  • The Best

"Secluded beautiful wooded ocean-front property with plenty of parking (sometimes a problem at the coast). The house was delightful -- tasteful choices throughout. The kitchen is stocked with best quality appliances, dishes, glassware. The linens are to die for! Lauren towels and crisply ironed best quality sheets on the sumptuous beds. We have rented many very nice vacation properties in Yachats and Waldport over the years but this was the BEST. We'll be back."

  • Perfect Thanksgiving Weekend

"We were looking for a house, right on the beach on the Oregon coast – and we found this really great place – right ON the beach!! We loved the blustery coastal November weather. We had great sun breaks for our beach walks later each afternoon at low tide. The beach right there, the crashing waves - and the 804 Trail were just what we were hoping for. We also ventured out to many beautiful sites close by including the Hecata Head Lighthouse, the lookout on the highest road on the Oregon coast, the sand dunes south of Florence – but mostly loved the proximity to the waves and the beach! The house was so comfortable – felt like home. Great fireplace and everything you need and then some. I will definitely look forward to staying again – in any season! We had planned on trying the restaurants recommended to us, but we found the Yachats Brewery the first day we were there. So much more than a brewery - we tried flights of their great brews of course - but it was the menu of locally sourced, organic, amazing food that had us return and try more of their innovative menu items. The delicata, leek and bacon flatbread was definitely a favorite. Thank you Niles family for sharing your place. It is special and appreciated. I highly recommend."

  • Everything we could have asked for was there.

"We were very pleased with our stay at this lovely home. From the moment we stepped through the front door and put on the provided slippers we knew that this placed was loved. Children will love the special place, a nook just for them, and games, books and many things to keep them entertained. The adults too will find many choices, books, movies and games. We played same game every night and hardly turned on the tv. We did cook most of our meals and the kitchen was well appointed with lots of pots, pans and dishes. Even spices and condiments were there. There was no dishwasher which wasn't a problem. A desk with good wifi was a popular seat for my son who needed to keep up with business. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the area and especially the wonderful state parks. Our contact with the owner was readily available and we appreciated his contacts. It was obvious that this was a place filled with love of nature, books and family. We are glad we chose the Whale's Nook."
