  • Nice spot for a winter vacation

"Peter and Susan's house was a nice place for our family to spend the winter holidays. It is large for a two bedroom and the feeling is enhanced by the really tall ceilings. We got three adults and two kids and it was really comfy. The house is well appointed, nice furniture, fireplace, very well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds and everything you need in the bathrooms. And they have a jetted tub in the master! The location is four of five miles outside Bend. It worked out the few times we went skiing because the road was crowded (we got a few sunny days after a good dump of snow). So it felt like we've saved some time by not being in the city. I've been told this is the exception and they usually have less people. There is something magical to being inside the house and watching a good snow storm making everything white outside while you sit in front of the fireplace drinking hot tea. I'd love to go back to their house in the summer. It looks like the community had a pool that must be nice and the whole community seems very pleasant to walk through. The only downside is the internet service was a bit spotty. It would only matter if you want to work and need a super reliable connection. As it was for us it wasn't a big deal. Second, even though the house is heated very well the floors tend to be cold. I'd take warm socks or something to wear inside the house. Peter and Susan were very nice to deal with. The thermostat was misbehaving the first day we got in and they made sure it was fixed the day after. Last but not least, I really liked how you enter the house through the garage. It makes it very easy to get out of the car and load/unload luggage when it's cold outside."

  • Fantastic Bend rental!

"Wonderful rental experience in Bend. From the start of the rental with a sweet card, champagne bottle, and fresh oranges, we knew it was going to be good. My family and I stayed 3 nights at the Sweets' home and it was great. The location is suburb, parking was ample and easy, and the kitchen was stocked with most of the "basics" one might need when but could easily forget (taco seasoning, extra salt, pepper, vanilla). They also supplied us with ample coffee and tea and had a wonderful array of kitchen items/tools/pots/pans to cook with. The home had a nice open kitchen/dining room/living room layout and the bedrooms were cozy. The hot tub, though small, was wonderful. I would return to this rental any and every time I'm in Bend and suggest you do the same!"

  • Great home for family get away!

"This house was perfect for our families. It was super nice and had something for everyone. We had two families stay and the kids stayed entertained and we were able to enjoy the stay without them right on top of us the whole weekend. It rained and snowed the whole time we were there but we never got bored. We used the SHARC passes and it was so nice. The hot tub was perfect for when we didn't want to go over to the swimming facility. We walked the trails and the kids LOVED the bikes. The house is located in a loop so it was perfect for bike riding. The one thing I will say is the beds in the bedrooms upstairs are REALLY noisy when you move, so the baby didn't sleep very well. :) There was plenty of towels, hot water, and the internet was fast. We would definitely stay here again!! THANK YOU!"

  • Best Choice for our Family's Snow Vacation!

"We chose this riverfront gem for our family trip, including my husband, daughter (6yo), and mother-in-law on our visit to Bend (from so-cal). The adults used the bedrooms and my daughter used the fold-out futon bed in the living room. Our favorite thing about the home was the nice mix of older home (early-mid 1900s?) and modern appliances. The snowy river was visible from the living room glass door and kitchen windows. Immediately upon arrival we cracked open our beers and headed out to the backyard to make a snowmen and igloo with the provided shovel. The TV had CD & DVD player and all kinds of access, we watched three of the movies that they provided for guests. The bathroom had a powerful heater and fan system which meant that we were always comfortably warm after showers. Stop by the house before you head to the grocery store, they keep the kitchen stocked with condiments. Surprisingly to us, we ended up making our own meals at home because we were so content at the house. A tip for snow travelers: If Mt. Bachelor is too busy...go to Hoodoo instead (arrive by 8am). For New Year's Eve, we went to The Pavillian ice skating rink which is less than a mile away. Friendly owners and easy communication. Accurately described home, layout makes perfect sense, location is fantastically central in Bend."
