  • How Sweet It Is!

"The Sweetums Ranch guest house was the perfect place to call home for our 10 day stay. My husband and I loved the peaceful setting, the immaculate grounds, resort-like pool, and the thoughtful hospitality provided by Tracy and her husband, Bill. We brought our two horses with us and really appreciated the convenience of having them boarded right there on the property. The horseback riding trails are incredible in the Bend and Sisters area and Sweetums Ranch is ideally located to explore them both. We really could not have found a more perfect spot, it checked all the boxes. Our thanks to our hosts, Tracy and Bill, we look forward to seeing you again next year."

  • Outstanding Stay that is close to everything!

"This year, our family vacation included a week's stay here with 7 of us, and it was nice that everyone had their own bathroom. My in-laws are in their early 80's and my father in-law just had hip replacement surgery the week before so they opted for the bedroom on the main floor. It worked out fine for them since they get up at the crack of dawn anyway. I did make some adjustments to their room though by rolling up the two area rugs near the bed as they slid around easily on the concrete floor and posed a trip hazard. Some backing on the carpet may help alleviate this problem. LAYOUT: I think we all agreed that we liked the layout of the house, which provided everyone with their own area. There are some stairs though so if you have more than one couple that can't go up and down stairs, that may pose a problem. The downstairs is set up nicely with a pool table, movie room and video games. We had a ball playing golf and some retro video games (Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga). The downstairs area also has a couple of other bedrooms and access out the back to the hot tub, where you have a nice view of the river. The Ping-Pong table in the garage finished off the entertainment so everyone was happy. There were plenty of places to just sit and read a book too, taking in the river views from any of the three levels. This house is perfect for families with pre-teens, teen-agers or young adults. Toddlers, I'm not so sure because there are such drop offs. However, the decks all have adequate gating and if you just watch the young ones, I think it would be okay. SUPPLIES: Boy, we took turns cooking so we used a variety of utensils, pots and pans without ever missing anything. The same goes for garbage bags, cutlery, flatware etc. Although there was no A/C, we didn't really have a problem staying cool. We were close to everything: River House for dinner, McKay Cottage and we even walked into the Mill District, which was 4 miles. About 20 minutes by bicycles (which we rented). Park is really close with good trail access. Only negative I can think of was house next door was pretty close but it was vacant and for sale, so never was an issue. Property was just like the photos described, very clean and cared for. Two problems were immediately addressed by the owner (video game reset and door lock which were easy fixes) Thanks for a wonderful stay. Activities that we did was brewery, distillery tour, bike rental, kayak rental and lots of shopping!"

  • Great location and perfect size!

"The house is cute and quaint! A perfect walking distance to great local eats and breweries. We recommend 10 barrel brewing and getting one of their pizzas. Hot tub is awesome to soak in after a day of boarding on Bachelor! We will definitely be staying here again!"

  • best location for walking into town and biking around the area

"The house was in our perfect location- we walked to town to a different coffee shop every morning, and then later walked back to town for dinner. We could easily bike around the historic neighborhoods and to a bike trail using the 4 bikes provided. FYI- you can also bike to many breweries and a great donut shop.We almost lost the opportunity to tube down the Deschutes because the wait was so long to rent tubes. We drove back to the house, grabbed two tubes and the raft from the garage, had them blown up were you rent the tubes, and we were in the river in no time. We exited at Drake Park and walked the block back to the house with our tubes. Bluebird checked in with us via email to see if we had any questions the day after we checked in. We definitely recommend this house!"
