  • Wonderful location and great home for a small family w/ kids; beautiful views and wraparound deck.

"My family had an incredible Black Butte vacation staying at this cute A-frame house. It is in such a great location overall, but especially for families w/ kids. You feel like you're in a treehouse, tucked away and very private. The kids loved riding their bikes around the cul-de-sac and around the wraparound deck. It is a very quiet and safe street and the house is at the end of the cul-de-sac. We often saw deer walking by. The bike paths are easily accessible and we loved biking everywhere; nothing beats flying through the meadow, seeing the mountain vistas, and seeing the horses and cows around you. The house is w/in walking distance of the very private Paulina Springs pool and the adjacent natural Paulina Springs, which provided an unexpected area that our kids loved (a natural bubbling springs/creek surrounded by trees and dirt banks; incredibly beautiful and the kids loved playing w/ sticks in the water and trying to cross the stream on the many rocks that act as natural stepping stones). The new pool/bistro complex was an easy bike ride away, as is the Glaze Meadow pool complex; similarly, there are great playgrounds and sports fields near both of these pool areas. The house was generally comfortable for us all. The huge wall of windows that looks out onto the deck and trees at the back of the house provides incredible light. The kitchen is small but totally workable for a vacation. The 2 full bathrooms were very nice and well-equipped. The master is small but totally fine for a vacation and there is a window for a nice breeze at night, if needed. We didn't need to use the loft space, but this looked great and had 2 twin beds. The downstairs bunkroom was wonderful for our young boys, and allowed good separation from the grown-ups. The family/play room adjacent to the downstairs bunkroom was also a great space for the kids. A wonderful house and a wonderful vacation await at this property! Would definitely stay here again w/ our family of 4."

  • Comfortable, cozy home

"My wife and I stayed for 4 days in January and found the house to be very cozy and comfortable. It was very clean and the kitchen is well equiped with everything we needed. It met our needs for a nice, quiet winter escape very nicely. The wood stove and hot tub were delightful to return to after skiing around the ranch. We enjoyed our stay and would rent this property again"

  • Peaceful Christmas

"My family spent this last Christmas at this property and found it cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was a good size to cook actual meals and we had enough space for everyone including 2 small children to maneuver around. It was great having access to the rec center since it was pretty cold outside and having an indoor activity option was great. My only complaint is that the heat didn't fully warm up the house and our attempt to have a fire instead produced a lot of smoke, especially in the upper bedrooms - probably any easy fix with a chimney sweep. Everything else was great though. Access to cross country skiing, sledding, Sisters and on site amenities were all wonderful."
