  • Great place!

"If you are in Dayville you've probably been on the road for a while and will be SO GLAD you stayed here. Not fancy, but all the comforts of home and more-great shower, deep soaking tub, a well appointed kitchen. Quiet, even though it's right on the main drag (a real plus when you're too tired to drive one.. more...mile). Walking distance from the Dayville Cafe, a true local gem AND they have take out, so you can enjoy your meal at the picnic table under the big shade tree. Convenient to all things fossil beds, highly recommended!"

  • Lakefront is great

"Our family of 4 had a nice weekend at this lakefront home. The decor is nicer than the pictures show, though the home is not in as good shape as other rentals we have stayed at in other towns. Just has signs of age. The updates they have done (laundry and bathroom, in particular) are nice. The homes on the lake are very close together, but we didn't notice the neighbors as they were an inside, older couple. Not sure why the guest from May 2016 said there was no dock available because it was right there. You will definitely want to bring your own boats or SUPs to use. The home is well stocked with kitchen supplies, pantry items, towels, and sheets. The beds are comfortable (and we are picky about that!). It was cold and a bit rainy during our stay, so we didn't need the windows and doors open as much, but I could see how the lack of a screen door to the deck would be an annoyance on a warm, buggy weekend. We selected this house because it was closer to town than the other rentals on the lake, but staying farther south would have worked just the same for us. You could walk to town if you really wanted to, but it's not a "walk to dinner" sort of distance or terrain because of a number of hills. The owners were easy to work with."

  • Union Loft

"A friend and I stayed in the loft for three nights. It was well stocked and comfortably furnished (comfortable beds! Always a plus) and provided a great base for exploring the area for bird watching, hiking and driving back roads. The loft is within walking distance of restaurants (try the LG Brewskis Pub) the Union Museum (a great museum!), and the Union Hotel. Dave and Mindy were wonderful hosts and provided lots of information on things to see and do. I am a bird watcher, so they suggested we might try the Union Cemetery for owls, and one evening we found 3 juvenile and 1 adult Great Horned Owls lounging around the tombstones. The Ladd Marsh Refuge was great for bird watching, and nine miles away the somewhat funky Cove Mineral Pool was a fun visit. Thanks to Dave and Mindy for helping make the visit so enjoyable - I'll be back!"

  • Great place for a large group

"We had ample space for our large group. We found the dining room and living room to be nice locations to gather and chat with each other. I used the deck with with the umbrella table to drink coffee in the mornings. I wish we had more time to just relax, but we were there for a wedding and we mainly used it for a base to sleep and eat. Judi was helpful with her description of the place and what is expected. We would use it again."
