  • Union Loft

"A friend and I stayed in the loft for three nights. It was well stocked and comfortably furnished (comfortable beds! Always a plus) and provided a great base for exploring the area for bird watching, hiking and driving back roads. The loft is within walking distance of restaurants (try the LG Brewskis Pub) the Union Museum (a great museum!), and the Union Hotel. Dave and Mindy were wonderful hosts and provided lots of information on things to see and do. I am a bird watcher, so they suggested we might try the Union Cemetery for owls, and one evening we found 3 juvenile and 1 adult Great Horned Owls lounging around the tombstones. The Ladd Marsh Refuge was great for bird watching, and nine miles away the somewhat funky Cove Mineral Pool was a fun visit. Thanks to Dave and Mindy for helping make the visit so enjoyable - I'll be back!"

  • Great Weekend!

"We stayed at Bogart's B&B (actually a cottage) for 3 nights in July. While we expected sunny, warm weather, it was quite a treat to sleep in, in the cozy bed on a rainy Sunday morning after eating Patty's yummy breakfast. Each morning was a different menu with phenomenal food. Wish we could post a picture of the food, it was truly amazing. The cottage was perfect for us, wonderful location, will definitely recommend it to our friends & family. Thank you Mark & Patty for a wonderful weekend!"

  • Great place!

"If you are in Dayville you've probably been on the road for a while and will be SO GLAD you stayed here. Not fancy, but all the comforts of home and more-great shower, deep soaking tub, a well appointed kitchen. Quiet, even though it's right on the main drag (a real plus when you're too tired to drive one.. more...mile). Walking distance from the Dayville Cafe, a true local gem AND they have take out, so you can enjoy your meal at the picnic table under the big shade tree. Convenient to all things fossil beds, highly recommended!"

  • Loved Baker City, loved Dewayne's Place

"We've driven past Baker City on I-84 but never stopped before. So glad we stopped this time and stayed at Dewayne's place. A complete 1br, 1 ba cottage with big deck, driveway parking and everything you could possible need for your stay. Lovingly and beautifully restored, there is a great kitchen, super-comfortable bed, washer/dryer in the large bathroom, cable tv and good wi-fi. Owners live next door if you need anything, but give you complete privacy. You can walk or drive to Safeway, Coffee Corral (excellent, fresh roasted coffee,) and several restaurants. Our favorite place was Barley Brown's brewpub. We drove up to Anthony Lake in the Elkhorn Mountains and took a beautiful hike up to Hoffer Lake. We also did the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway, a long loop drive to the Hells Canyon overlook, then on a paved but seasonal road through the Wallowa Mountains to Joseph then east to Enterprise and La Grande, before returning to Baker on I-84. We didn't have time to get to the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center - have to save that one for next time. We will definitely book Dewayne's Place for that trip, too."
