  • Cute little cabin in the woods!

"Pappy's cabin is in an awesome little neighborhood near the Sandy River (there are neighbors nearby, but the area was very quiet). The cabin is small but had everything we needed for a romantic get-away with access to Mt. Hood and other areas for hiking during the day. There is a path down to the river right behind the cabin. We used the stove for heat and it was almost too toasty warm! There is a nice, big deck with a table and chairs. If you sit on the deck or leave the sliding door open, you can hear the river. I love that sound! A few cons, but nothing that would stop me from staying here again: - As others have mentioned, the couch was not very comfortable. As it is the only place to sit besides the kitchen chairs, it was a bit of a bummer, especially after a 12-mile hike! - I did not find the bed particularly comfy. - There seems to be the beginnings of a wasp nest under the deck (every time we walked on the deck, the wasps showed up). The owners may not be aware of it yet. - The price seemed a bit high for a weekend in a cabin, especially since it is the off-season in the Mt. Hood area. Despite the very minor cons, I would definitely consider staying here again. It was wonderful to be able to cook our own meals, hang out on the deck, walk from the cabin to the river, and have easy access to Mt. Hood recreation. A small grocery store, Thriftway, is nearby and that was very helpful for us. Also, check out Coffee House 26, great coffee, cute place!"

  • Fantastic Getaway in the Woods

"Very adorable and spacious cabin for a retreat from the city. The appliances and electronics are dated, just keep that in mind. If you need a gormet kitchen to cook in or a full sound system for movies this isn't the place for you. However, it's perfect for relaxing and enjoying the company in the beautiful surroundings. The hot tub is dated as well, only one jet works but still makes for a great soak. Backyard is a great space! Thoroughly enjoyed this getaway cabin."

  • Wonderful Stay

"Thank you for the use of your wonderful house. The setting was just perfect for our family. The house was clean and in good repair although the microwave button panel was quite loose and not all features worked but enough to get things heated. Comfortable beds. Great view of the river. Particularly enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and gas grill. People should be aware that they need to bring things for the kitchen such as tin foil, plastic wrap, plastic storage containers and baggies plus most cooking staples if they think they might need them. We brought most of these things including roasting sticks. We would love to return and would highly recommend it to others."

  • Beautiful Getaway

"We enjoyed our stay at the Brightwood home. The owner was very friendly, and the house was spotlessly clean. The forest that surrounded the home was beautiful and peaceful. Sitting on the deck listening to the birds and watching the wildlife provided us with a very relaxing week."
