  • Perfect retreat

"My husband and our 2 grandkids stayed here for a wk. The setting is unsurpassed. Loved the river behind the house. We were completely comfortable. The kids loved the ping pong table. The location has very easy access to great hikes in the Mt. Hood area as well as fishing and white water rafting. Anytime I emailed the owner with a question, I got an immediate response. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend."

  • Great location, terrible beds

"This location was perfect, the house was great, the beds were terrible! The two queen beds have IKEA foam mattresses that are almost as hard as a box spring, and I am not exaggerating. Fortunately there were inner spring mattresses under some of the beds, and that is what we used. Hopefully the owners just ordered these and don't realize what they have placed in the house, as no one would find these acceptable. We loved that we could not see the other houses around us, that it was very quiet, and the scenery was beautiful. We did not like that we found out the grill was not operational until after we bought steaks. The WiFi is spotty, but that can't be helped in the mountains. If it went down, it was back up within a few minutes. The kitchen was very adequately stocked, and the dishwasher worked great. The fireplace is not currently working, so I would be very hesitant to rent this home during the winter as it is the main source of heat. The two downstairs bedrooms have baseboard heaters, but the main part of the house is very chilly, even in summer, without a major heat source. The bed configuration is a little odd in that the bedroom with the attached bathroom had two fulls, while the upstairs bedroom has a queen. So the parents were the ones coming downstairs in the middle of the night. We knew that going in, but you will want to be aware of that configuration. Overall, if they fix the mattress problem, we would not hesitate to stay there again in the summer."

  • Great quiet cabin for the value...perfect for a couple

"We really enjoyed our stay at Martin's cabin. It has a very homey atmosphere. We didn't use the wood burning stove...only needing to use the wall heater once...and briefly at that. The hot tub on the deck was a real bonus after the long hikes we took during the day. We took advantage of the record player...it was quite a kick listening to the old albums. We did cook 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed there. I brought my own cast iron skillet and a couple of bowls with lids. That is the only thing lacking a bit. A nice salad bowl with a lid...and a few more storage bowls for leftovers. We would highly recommend this cabin...a great value."

  • Just wonderful

"Wonderful experience from A to Z. Lovely cabin with hot tube and the woods at its door. The Zig-Zag river was pretty close too. But what makes us really love it and thinking to come again is the outstanding customer service. We have been to nice cabins before, but we seldom found this level of service and profesionalism."
