"In 30 years of going to Hood River this vacation rental has the best environment and views of the Gorge. It is well maintained. We will be back."

  • Cute little cabin in the woods!

"Pappy's cabin is in an awesome little neighborhood near the Sandy River (there are neighbors nearby, but the area was very quiet). The cabin is small but had everything we needed for a romantic get-away with access to Mt. Hood and other areas for hiking during the day. There is a path down to the river right behind the cabin. We used the stove for heat and it was almost too toasty warm! There is a nice, big deck with a table and chairs. If you sit on the deck or leave the sliding door open, you can hear the river. I love that sound! A few cons, but nothing that would stop me from staying here again: - As others have mentioned, the couch was not very comfortable. As it is the only place to sit besides the kitchen chairs, it was a bit of a bummer, especially after a 12-mile hike! - I did not find the bed particularly comfy. - There seems to be the beginnings of a wasp nest under the deck (every time we walked on the deck, the wasps showed up). The owners may not be aware of it yet. - The price seemed a bit high for a weekend in a cabin, especially since it is the off-season in the Mt. Hood area. Despite the very minor cons, I would definitely consider staying here again. It was wonderful to be able to cook our own meals, hang out on the deck, walk from the cabin to the river, and have easy access to Mt. Hood recreation. A small grocery store, Thriftway, is nearby and that was very helpful for us. Also, check out Coffee House 26, great coffee, cute place!"

  • Perfect family get away!

"We enjoyed everything about this home. It was tucked away on a beautiful piece of property with amazing views yet not so far away from it all that it was an easy drive into Hood River for dinner. There were 6 people In our group and there was more then enough space for us to spread out. The kitchen is beautiful with everything you need to cook a meal. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms well equipped with plenty of towels. So many fun things to do in the area...wine tasting, hiking, fruit picking and beer tasting to name a few. This is a unique property that I would highly recommend and definitely rent again."

  • Beautiful, comfortable home.

"We had a group of 12 combination of 3 couples and children. There were more than enough beds to accommodate our group. The lay out was perfect. The kids enjoyed staying nearby their cousins within the same house. I like the open plan of the kitchen. The house was very clean and comfortable for our group. We had lots of fun in Mt. Hood. This house in conveniently located, close by little eateries and a small grocery store in Government Camp."
