"9 of us stayed at Second Wind and it was just wonderful! The home is so well-kept. Everything is nice and neat, inside and out, beautifully decorated, and we had everything we could possibly need and more. It really felt like home with many personal touches and fun collections in the house. I loved that the kitchen was well-stocked with nice quality stainless steel pans and cast iron cookware. That's what I use at home and so often when we've rented a place the cookware is old, scratched-up, non-stick cookware that I don't feel is healthy to use. The house is big enough that there was plenty of room for all of us - many places to sit and space for having your own space if you want it.
The sleepy, quiet town was just what we like and it is a short drive, about 5 minutes, to Seaside where you can go if you want an area with more activity. But we liked the quiet and restful atmosphere, and the quiet and private beach with no crowds! One day while walking through the grassy dunes to the beach, we saw a herd of 40-50 elk - that was awesome!
The little corner market was a great little store to walk to when we needed to pick up a few groceries and the local bakery was very nice for some morning treats. The bakery has limited hours so be sure to check that if you want to go.
Also, it was great to bring our dog along. The owners make pets very welcome and that made our trip very special to have our doggie with us. They even have a line in place outside so we could just hook it right to our dog's harness and she could have freedom to roam the yard and be safe.
We all loved the bench swing in the back and the warm outdoor shower to rinse off with before coming inside. We had planned to use the bikes that are offered, and we brought our helmets, but never got around to that, but that is a wonderful thing that the owners offer as well.
It was perfect and we hope we get the opportunity to come back some day. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! What a lovely place!"
