  • Gearhart Holiday Condo

"We enjoyed a short stay in this condo. It was comfortable and well-equipped. Furnishings are dated, yet comfortable and just what you need for a vacation rental. Our only complaint was the double bed - it was not comfortable for 2 adults - needs replacing. The pool was a great draw for our young grandkids and Seaside and Cannon Beach are close by. It was great to stay in the peaceful surroundings of Gearhart and have the buzz of family fun and beaches so close at hand."

  • Home-away-from-home at the beach!

"9 of us stayed at Second Wind and it was just wonderful! The home is so well-kept. Everything is nice and neat, inside and out, beautifully decorated, and we had everything we could possibly need and more. It really felt like home with many personal touches and fun collections in the house. I loved that the kitchen was well-stocked with nice quality stainless steel pans and cast iron cookware. That's what I use at home and so often when we've rented a place the cookware is old, scratched-up, non-stick cookware that I don't feel is healthy to use. The house is big enough that there was plenty of room for all of us - many places to sit and space for having your own space if you want it. The sleepy, quiet town was just what we like and it is a short drive, about 5 minutes, to Seaside where you can go if you want an area with more activity. But we liked the quiet and restful atmosphere, and the quiet and private beach with no crowds! One day while walking through the grassy dunes to the beach, we saw a herd of 40-50 elk - that was awesome! The little corner market was a great little store to walk to when we needed to pick up a few groceries and the local bakery was very nice for some morning treats. The bakery has limited hours so be sure to check that if you want to go. Also, it was great to bring our dog along. The owners make pets very welcome and that made our trip very special to have our doggie with us. They even have a line in place outside so we could just hook it right to our dog's harness and she could have freedom to roam the yard and be safe. We all loved the bench swing in the back and the warm outdoor shower to rinse off with before coming inside. We had planned to use the bikes that are offered, and we brought our helmets, but never got around to that, but that is a wonderful thing that the owners offer as well. It was perfect and we hope we get the opportunity to come back some day. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! What a lovely place!"

  • Must See Oregon Coast Family Vacation Destinatuon.

"We recently took our family to stay at this wonderful, get away, luxury home. The home was everything we imagined and more. It is very well equipped with everything you could need or want. The kitchen has every appliance including an outside gas, Reber stainless state, of the art grill. The home is located within walking distance of the beach and grocery store. A private parking lane, off the street, accommodated our four vehicles with ease. Outdoor equipment including horse shoes, tennis, croquet, ping pong, frisbee, a fire pit, (with chopped firewood) bicycles, beach toys, clam guns, and more, made for the family vacation of a life time! The home is located near a hidden jewel golf course (Gearhart Links.). We saw elk on the beach (every day). We saw eagles and osprey, dug clams, went crabbing, caught our limits of salmon (with Coho Charters) saw seals and whales, hiked to Disappointment Cove, visited Haystack Rock and went to Cannon Beach for wonderful shopping and fine food. We even went to the Seaside Acquainium and fed fhe seals and the kids got to handle sea life (even though it must have been built in 1920). What more could you ask for? This place is nothing short of amazing and I wish I was there now. You can lay by one of two fireplaces or cuddle up with a book. You can sit on the outside deck, under the pines and hear the ocean at night. This place is private, secluded and and secure. We felt safe. We also enjoyed working with the homeowner who has generously shared all of this with us. Thank you Kathy! I rate this secret, secluded, sanctuary with 5 stars and can't wait to return."

"This condo had just the right amount of comfortable, but not fussy, furnishings. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the equipment we needed to cook our meals. We only went out to eat once, at McMenimenn's across the street. Very family friendly. The pool was a BIG hit with my grandchildren. Great experience for all!"
