  • Spyglass Sensational...

"If you're looking for that perfect beach house in Manzanita, look no further. The Spyglass is well appointed with a workable floor plan from an upstairs reading loft to the downstairs game room. Enough bathrooms for all? No worries! One on each floor of this spacious house made it comfortable for nine adults. Compact sound system was just right & wi-fi to boot! Nice decking above & below with bbq we didn't use, but could've. Private access to the surf is rare these days & was much appreciated! Loved the kitchen, but could stand to add some larger pieces of cookware (we make home-made clam chowder) to feed an army of seafood lovers!! Just bring your own hardware for stuff like that, I suppose. Rooms are cleverly chopped up to drown out those screaming sports fans while others care to chill around the coffee table. That's really nice! Price is right & close to town makes this one a real winner. You'll like the owners too. We'd book another stay for sure. Many thanks for letting us enjoy your Manzanita getaway! Oh, and you probably hear this a lot but that dart board was more fun than anything!"

  • What a great setup for two families

"We stayed with our sister-in-law and her family, so our 4 children and their two and two couples. Was a perfect setup for that, with the separate bunk house for the 6 children. The bunk house was very solid and the bunk beds were safe with built in ladders and railing. Plenty of towels and linens provided, functional kitchen with adequate cook-ware. Everything was clean and well maintained. The location is really nice. We stayed on this street before and like the vibe of the neighborhood and the proximity to the businesses and beach. Everything is very walk-able. I recommend donuts and coffee at Manzanita Coffee Co., hot dogs at Mudd Dogs and pizza at Marzano's Pizza Pie."

  • Great property

"Very well appointed and maintained. The owner was great to work with. My only complaint, and it has nothing to do with the house, is that VRBO is now charging a large service fee ($190) which requires you download the VRBO app. I can see no benefit to the service fee and it is just a hidden tax which significantly drives up the cost of VRBO's rentals. I would easily rent this house again, but the VRBO fee is unreasonable (especially in light of the owner being responsive and VRBO likely not knowing anything more about the property or area than I do). Its very unfortunate that VRBO has chosen to impose this additional tax."

  • Wonderful Family Reunion

"It was a joy for our family to have this beautiful home for three nights for our yearly summer reunion. This year there were 18 of us and the spaciousness and comfort of the house was much appreciated. The house has good beds with nice linens and nice towels in the many bathrooms. It's supplied with everything from shampoo to spices! The kitchen has everything you would need. We had a croquet tournament in the huge landscaped yard .. also played badminton and frisbee (all equipment provided) and had a fire each night at the fire pit (even firewood was provided). The owners are very helpful; they told us about a dock close-by to buy fresh crab, the best place for breakfast, special things about neighboring towns and the festivities in the area. They definitely go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Thank you, Dorothy and Dick!"
