  • Perfectly located, spacious, quiet, well stocked for kids!

"We were a family group of 8--five adults and 3 kids 8 and younger. The house was so comfortable and well stocked for rainy-day kid fun (toys, games, books, videos), and the garage large enough inside that our kids rode their bikes around there when it was raining outside. The two high lights of the visit were the discovery of the farmer's market a mere block away. While sitting on the deck I heard music and a hum of activity through the trees, and stepped outside to see tents and smiling people down the street! The other high light was a dusk dash to the beach to take in the sunset with all the adults and kids in our group. The walk down was quiet (no cars) and the walk back easy and safe for the kids to ride their bikes all the way up the modest incline. Manzanita is distinctly mild mannered and not a party town, and that is totally my speed. I slept on the murphy bed, which was totally cozy and comfortable. I mention this because a good mattress can really make or break a visit somewhere. And the kitchen was totally impressive for the gigantic counter space! We did a lot of cooking and everything was easy to locate and manage with all that elbow room. Wonderful house!"

  • What’s NOT to LOVE about “Oceanfront Rental Manzanita”?

"Would I travel 3000 miles again, to stay at this fabulous home, where the ‘front yard’ was the Pacific Ocean? Short answer: YES!! The photos in HomeAway are good, but we weren’t prepared the sheer delight we would experience in our Memorial Day weekend in this beautiful home. Living on the East Coast, I only get to see my adult children/grandchildren a few times a year, so we were thrilled to have three family nights here. The outside temps were cold, but this house is so well insulated that we stayed toasty warm inside, enjoying our unobstructed views of other tourists, the beach and the ocean. This house sleeps ten, and the seven of us were very happy with our individual room choices and the kitchen/dining room and living room accommodations. The large screen TVs were perfect for family movie times, the upstairs room provided each of us our own quiet time to “just stare out the window and count the waves” or watch a different movie. As a family business, JV and his son, Jay, divide up the rental labor. JV was my TEXT message correspondent, answering all questions and giving precise directions on using the keypad entry. We appreciated the flexibility of this timesaver: we didn’t have to waste precious time by registering in another location to pick up the keys. The kitchen was much better than ours at home, and we used their condiments for any we’d forgotten. A sweet touch was leaving us a Gift Card for a local coffee shop—which happens to also have the best donuts in town. We continued to patronize them throughout the weekend. Thanks again, JV and Jay. We all agree it was the best vacation ever, and we’d love to do it again. We really did not want to leave!! Elizabeth Hurlow-Hannah"

  • Neat little house

"My husband and I stayed here with our two kids aged 4 and 2 and our dog. . . . it was perfect for us. The property was fenced well enough to keep our kids as well as our dog in (although a more rambunctious dog would definitely be able to get out of the fence). The house was only a few short blocks from the beach so it was easy to walk there with the kids. The kids loved playing in the upstairs area and it was great to have us all in the same room at night since our kids are still so young. The house was comfortable, everything worked well and it was well worth the money! We would stay here again."

  • August 2015 visit

"Proximity to the golf course and driving range is excellent as well as to Nehalem State Park for dog walking. Just far enough from downtown to quiet yet close enough to walk. Very well equipped and maintained with wonderful property managers (much better than Sunset rentals. We only had two small issues, one with the stove not working well and the other was an odd configuration of 3rd floor bathroom mirrors making it hard to shave/put on make-up. Looking forward to staying there this coming summer."
