  • Lovely property, convenient location

"This was our first visit to Portland and I'm so happy we stayed in Julie's lovely apartment. I can understand the noise concerns of another review as it is close to a relatively major street and the general urban setting is certainly louder than our small town home, however, having lived previously in a city, the noise level was exactly what I would expect, maybe even quieter most of the time. Being a short walk from the trains and on the 6 bus line was wonderful, the neighborhood all around was fun to walk to, and the apartment was pleasant and comfortable. We had a great visit!"

  • Wonderful Visit

"My family of 5 adults stayed here over New Years. The place is very spacious and comfortable. My daughter and her husband found their bed to be so comfortable that they looked at the manufacturing label to see if they can purchase the same mattress and box springs!! We loved the fire place especially on the snowy nights. Our son lives within walking distance of this location, so it was a perfect location for us. It is very close to grocery store, restaurants, and parks. We will definitely be coming back."

  • Wedding in Oregon City

"My fiancée found this home on VRBO while we were looking for a spot to have a family vacation for the entire week of our wedding. Many of her family members live in and around the Portland area so having the wedding in Oregon made the most sense. Let me just say the pictures of the house do not do it justice. We really liked it when we saw it on VRBO but fell in love with it the minute we opened the door. We had people coming and going the entire week and everyone just loved the home. We did a lot of running around that week and everything seemed very convenient and in close proximity. I was a pro at finding my way around by the time we left. We met the resident handy man and the neighbors and both we so nice during our stay. With everyone coming and going I will say that one of her cousins was visiting for about 30 minutes and she did say she felt a little nauseous from the movement. She did say she is very sensitive though. No one else had any issues with the movement which is very slight and in my opinion not very noticeable. We also rented the bungalow for several days at the end of the week and it too was so nice. The wedding went off without a hitch and the house far exceeded our expectations. Our goal would be to use the house again each year as an anniversary / family get away. I will add that there is a set of train tracks at the top of the hill that is used both by freight and Amtrak trains. It was a little startling the first time a train went by but after that it didn’t bother us at all. I don’t think we heard any noise from the road being so far down the hill which made for some very peaceful nights sitting on the deck by the fire. The fire pit was the awesome by the way! Everyone that had the chance to enjoy a night by the fire all wanted to strap it to their car and take it home with them. I would say no matter what the occasion is, whether it being a family vacation with the kids or a group of friends all chipping in to have a nice house to stay in it will suit everyone’s needs. The kids fished off the dock every single day with the poles that are provided and everyone loved sitting on the deck day and night enjoying the water."

  • Clean Historic Home in a POPPING neighborhood

"This home was old (in a really cool charming way, full of character) roomy, comfortable and clean. The owner was very responsive to all my silly questions. I especially appreciated his patience as this was the first time we've used VRBO. He was super accommodating when I needed extra help at the end of our stay. As mentioned in the other reviews...the house is older and does creak. But it only adds to the charm. It didn't impact our stay negatively at all. We slept well and enjoyed every moment of our stay. Our first night in we had dinner at the food carts around the corner and watched a movie. It was such a treat for our entire family. We also used the biketown bikes that are like .25 miles away: Can't wait to return. The highlight of this house is location, location, location!"
