  • Private, quiet, beautiful!

"A perfect place for a single person or small family. Host has created a vintage haven that was extremely clean, superbly decorated with a fully equipped kitchen for those who enjoy preparing home cooked meals. Queen size, wraught iron bed super comfortable. Access to a serenity garden for contemplation with charming chickens and rabbits a few steps further out in the spacious back yard. Amber Jane and her family are kind and thoughtful hosts. Close to everything from coffee shops to movie theaters! May this place continue to be a successful offering in this friendly, safe neighborhood in SE Portland. Thank you!"

  • Great location, awesome kitchen to entertain

"My husband and I rented Cora Flats over Thanksgiving. Six of us stayed at the house. It was very clean and neat. My husband and I had the top floor which obviously used to be an attic because of the weirdly shaped roof lines in the bedroom and bathroom. If you are a tall person, you're going to walk away with a few bumps to the head! 😜 The bed was a queen and was ok - could use a new bed frame and mattress if you really want a good night sleep. The main floor bedroom was small and had a closet but no bureau to keep your clothes when you unpacked. The unfinished basement was perfect for my niece, her boyfriend and their two dogs. They shared the main floor bathroom with my sister which had an old Singer sewing machine table base for the sink area - very cool! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner. The living room couch in the photo on VRBO is different than the actual couch in the room which was not the most comfortable of couches. The chairs alongside the couch were ok - it would have been nice to have some really comfortable chairs so we could all relax in comfort while watching the parade on TV. All in all, we had a really nice stay here. The owner was communicative and easy to deal with."

  • Perfect for our group reunion over the weekend

"A group of us (9 adult women), all friends from college days, had a great reunion weekend at Portland and this house was the perfect home base for our group. There are 9 beds in the house so everyone can have her own bed (some of us ended up sharing the bed so we could have accommodated even more people in the party if we need to). The basement level also has two bedrooms and living space - we didn't use the living space there but some of us did enjoy the quiet bedroom away from the crowd upstairs when a nap is in order. The main level has a big family room with views into the backyard and green space. There is no house visible from the family room so it feels very private, quite and the green park in the back is very calming and pleasant to take a walk around. There is a creek even flowing across with flowers blooming around. There is a nice long dinning table in the family room that was used extensively by our group - perfect for a group dinner and sitting around to chat. The kitchen is well stocked - we brought some extra pan and pots not knowing if there are enough in the house. We are pleasantly surprised it has almost everything we needed. The heating takes a bit time to warm up the house when we initially checked in, and so we lit up the fireplace with firewood found in the garage. That was a crowd pleaser - it warms up the space and the party for us. There are only two bathrooms - one upstairs, one downstairs so it requires a bit of coordination but we managed without causing problems. There is also a deck and BBQ - we didn't use the BBQ but imagine it can be really nice for the summer time. Overall our group was extremely happy with the house."
