  • Hidden gem!!!

"This is a great hidden gem on the Oregon coast. Far enough inland to keep you warm, near enough to the coast to keep you cool. Pets, kids welcome. Could sleep 3 families easy. If you ride bikes, bring your road bike. Each ride from the house features a tailwind going uphill and and a nice downhill section. Elk River is actually a scenic bikeway with little to no traffic. World class fishing and golf nearby. House is fully stocked for cooking and laundry. Its an easy 10 min drive into Port Orford for supplies. But the best part is the deck and direct access to the river. My kids played in the water all day. In the summer, the water is high enough inner tube but shallow enough in most spaces to wade knee deep. Full of critters, salamanders, frogs, crawfish, beavers and even an otter up river 50 yds or so. Owners are really nice and accommodating. Been here twice already so shhhhh, don't tell anyone ;)"

  • This place is huge with a great view!

"We stayed as a group of 4 families. There was plenty of space to mingle, cook, play games, wander or sit and enjoy the sound of the ocean. The place has a retro vibe so if you are looking for the most up to date kitchen and technology (there is cable tv in both masters) this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a great place to enjoy the scenes of nature and spending quality time with family and friends this place is wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their time spent at the house and at the beach. We went to town a few times and really like the charm and friendly people. Perfect mountain/beach destination!"

  • The Sorenson Cabin is an off the grid delight

"The Sorenson cabin is small, off the grid, with propane heat, refrigerator, and stove top and a gravity- fed water system. It is remote in the sense that it is isolated and on 160 acres but is easily accessible from the coast highway. 4WD is a plus, the road is a bit rough in places. GPS elevation is around 1350’ There is some old growth timber and quite a bit of late successional growth interspersed with creeks and meadows. Wildlife abounds, lots of elk, turkeys, and no doubt bear and bobcat If you are looking for solitude and quiet in a no- frills environment with spectacular views it would be hard to beat the Sorenson Cabin. There is no landline telephone, but good cellular reception. We rented the cabin for Lori’s 60th birthday. On previous occasions we usually went camping or backpacking in our younger days. As luck would have it there was a cyclone moving down the coast and winds were gusting at around 40 knots with heavy rain but the cabin is tight as can be We had a problem with the shower head but within an hour of calling Wildland Properties and in spite of a steady gale and heavy rain they had a nice gentleman up there replacing it This section of the Oregon Coast offers some of the most gorgeous and least visited beaches in the State. Humbug Mountain is just to the north, and the Elk River is a sight to behold Trips to the Oregon Coast are good for the soul."

  • Best vacation EVER!!!

"Land's End is the ultimate vacation house. Perched next to the ocean, at the end of a very private street, it allows you space and time to just kick back and relax. Close enough to Gold Beach, Port Orford, and even Brookings, there is plenty to do...if you decide to leave this little piece of heaven on earth for an hour or two. Immaculate, cozy, and very well laid out, you might just want to do what we did...walk on the beach, sit by the big picture windows, read a book, and soak in the hot tub. The kitchen had absolutely everything you would need to make the simplest to most complex meal. Everything about this house tells you how much it is loved and taken care of. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms perfect. There is a TV, but we never turned it on. The view out of the window was much more interesting! A very perfect vacation house!!"
