  • Beautful Christmas at Sweetbrier Farm!

"Christmas of 2016 I had opportunity to have Christmas at Sweetbrier Farm with my family. A couple of the gang live in Grants Pass, a couple live in Portland and a couple from Mckinleyville, California. This was a great half way spot for all. My first impression of the farm was "amazing!". Judy does a fantastic job at describing the details of the house. I have read reviews of other VRBO's and found the description does not meet the actuality. In this case at Sweetbrier, Judy's description was spot on but also much better. "The farm kitchen is well stocked and all appliances are modern"...indeed it is stocked. As a cook I was very impressed and pleased at how stocked the kitchen was. Being burned in the past I brought much of my own utensils, cutting boards and baking sheets. I didn't have to use anything I brought. The rooms were well furnished and very cozy. The dining room farm table was our go to place. That thing is awesome! We couldn't have felt more at home. My husband and I spelt on the porch on the swinging bed. What a delight! The morning view was gorgeous. We used both the fireplace and the fire pit which is well designed and firewood was plentiful. Judy has a nice hand drawn map of the property for walks and runs. The river is close by and the oak tree in front was picture perfect. We all felt grateful to have such a warm inviting home to spend Christmas in. We will be back! Thank you, Judy *As a side note, my husband is on 24 hour call for his web company and the internet is very spotty so if you have to have internet be prepared. This will in no way effect our desire to stay again however we would have made slightly different plans for his work."

  • Cozy and clean

"A clean and comfortable house. It was perfect for my family of 6. The kitchen had everything we needed and the owner was super hospitable. I would definitely stay again!"

  • Family get-together

"Our extended family was staying in three locations less than a mile apart. This house was a great place to gather for an evening meal or time in the evening to gather for recreational activities after a busy day hiking, sight-seeing, water activities, winery visits and more. We were three generations who could enjoy various activities together or apart with all the distinct areas in which to gather. Pool playing could be going on in the lower level, while wee ones were being read to in a quieter spot upstairs and others were working jigsaw puzzles, cooking in the well equipped kitchen, or enjoying quiet conversation. We did put some of the fragile art pieces away to protect from curious little hands. Have already recommended to others."

  • Lovely home and setting!

"My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary by renting this lovely home. It was immaculate, beautifully decorated & updated, and working with Sue and Jason was a breeze. Too cold out to use the pool - that was a shame because it was so sparkling clean & inviting. Sue and her family are clearly proud of the property's history and how inviting their home is to just relax, do projects we brought, cook (best stocked for spices & cookware I've ever seen in a VRBO home), and take photos of the gorgeous view (had a beautiful rainbow with stormy grey clouds behind it on our last morning). We had a great time exploring the area too - took Sue's advice of the River's Edge for our anniversary dinner (delicious & gorgeous food, and not too pricey by Bay Area standards), did the Wildlife Safari drive & had a blast (saving the wildlife rescue place for our next trip), won at the Seven Feathers casino (and immediately went home), and had little magical moments every day (like having a guy pull into the scenery viewing area & start playing his ukulele, nicely!). Stay here. You'll love it."
