  • Our Temporary Home

"We used this property as our temporary home while we were transitioning with a move to Medford. We stayed here three weeks waiting for our permanent residence to become available. It was a very reasonable in price and the space was great. The pros is that the location was convenient to many restaurants, shops. It had all the necessities for eating in and included a washer/dryer in the unit The cons about this place is that it is not large enough for 3 adults. The sofa bed was uncomfortable however a child would not notice it as much. The property's walkway (gravel) to the door is not easy to get to especially when rolling your luggage nor is it accessible for individuals with handicaps. I would recommend reassessing this for future renters. All in all it was a great place and I would recommend it to my friends/family when visiting the area."

  • Nice little place.

"The place looks great; it is well kept up and nicely furnished. The inside living area is comfortable for two or three, but I suspect it might be a little tight at four. There is a small kitchenette which is sufficient to store some cold beverages and reheat leftovers, though if you like ice you'll need to stop for a bag. Cooking a full meal for 4 might be a little tough, but everything you need to do it is there. There is, however, a great big grill and a much roomier table out on the deck which solves both of those problems, weather permitting. The garden is lovely! I disagree with those who don't like the beds; I think they're the best thing about this joint. For one thing, it's nearly impossible to find a King bed in this town at all, much less a nice, soft one. If you are a die-hard hard-bed enthusiast this is probably not the rental for you. Pro-tip: if you prefer a darker bedroom, pick the one with the brown shade; the black drapes look more substantial at first glance, but there are gaps on the sides such that you will get plenty of sun plenty early. The location is about a 15-minute walk from the theaters for those in good walking shape and there is easy parking for those of us who are not. Checking in and out is a breeze and the hosts don't leave you a giant, laminated list of all the chores they expect you to do like so many other Ashland rentals seem to. I will warn you that the wall between the little living area and the other rental is pretty thin. We've stayed there twice now and both times could hear people in the other unit speaking as what I assume was reasonable conversational volume. Sometimes I could even make out the actual words. Fortunately, the bedroom did not have a similar issue."

  • Delightful lodgings right in town.

"We enjoyed a wonderful four-day-weekend in Ashland. The Traveler's Cottage has a prime location, right near the theaters and the main part of town. We were able to walk to the nearby Co-op for groceries and good coffee is only about a block away. The cottage has a comfortable bed and handy sitting area. The kitchen is rather narrow but usable. Further, the cookware and cutlery are of high quality. The cottage is located on the back of the hostel. It has a separate entrance, kitchen, and bathroom. I was concerned that it might be noisy to share a building with the hostel. However, our room was peaceful and quiet. Beth, the Innkeeper, is awesome. She was friendly and responsive. I would love to come back to the cottage!"
