  • Wedding in Oregon City

"My fiancée found this home on VRBO while we were looking for a spot to have a family vacation for the entire week of our wedding. Many of her family members live in and around the Portland area so having the wedding in Oregon made the most sense. Let me just say the pictures of the house do not do it justice. We really liked it when we saw it on VRBO but fell in love with it the minute we opened the door. We had people coming and going the entire week and everyone just loved the home. We did a lot of running around that week and everything seemed very convenient and in close proximity. I was a pro at finding my way around by the time we left. We met the resident handy man and the neighbors and both we so nice during our stay. With everyone coming and going I will say that one of her cousins was visiting for about 30 minutes and she did say she felt a little nauseous from the movement. She did say she is very sensitive though. No one else had any issues with the movement which is very slight and in my opinion not very noticeable. We also rented the bungalow for several days at the end of the week and it too was so nice. The wedding went off without a hitch and the house far exceeded our expectations. Our goal would be to use the house again each year as an anniversary / family get away. I will add that there is a set of train tracks at the top of the hill that is used both by freight and Amtrak trains. It was a little startling the first time a train went by but after that it didn’t bother us at all. I don’t think we heard any noise from the road being so far down the hill which made for some very peaceful nights sitting on the deck by the fire. The fire pit was the awesome by the way! Everyone that had the chance to enjoy a night by the fire all wanted to strap it to their car and take it home with them. I would say no matter what the occasion is, whether it being a family vacation with the kids or a group of friends all chipping in to have a nice house to stay in it will suit everyone’s needs. The kids fished off the dock every single day with the poles that are provided and everyone loved sitting on the deck day and night enjoying the water."

  • Lovely home, excellent location!

"What a pleasant place to stay! Pretty and peaceful, convenient to a bus line that takes you into downtown Portland or up to the Alberta arts district. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!"

  • Lovely rental on Detroit Lake

"This is a very cute rental with a partial view of the lake. It's on a nice dead end street and is very private. The house itself has an interesting layout, with the master bedroom in kind of a lower floor/daylight basement area, which is pretty cute and has a nice forest view. The living room is large with big picture windows and the kitchen and dining area are very nice. Upstairs is a loft area and a couple of side rooms with TVs, fooseball, video game unit, etc. My husband's favorite part about the rental was the big outside space with a fire pit and picnic table. We had a fire two of the nights and roasted marsh mellows and watched the mist drift over the mountains. Really lovely. We had an issue with the water heater while we were there, but we were able to easily contact the owner and he put us in touch with the person who handles the property repairs. It took a little bit of time, but it was resolved and the rest of the vacation went really well. For the price I think this place is pretty amazing. It does only have one bathroom, but the rest of the house is roomy, and you could easily fit a family of 5-6 comfortably."

  • Fantastic!

"We visited Portland for our honeymoon and stayed at Sunita's condo for 8 nights. It was so nice to come back to a fully furnished home rather than a hotel room after a busy day of sightseeing. Sunita is a wonderful hostess who is genuinely nice and cares about her guests. The condo is lovely and very peaceful in a quiet neighborhood. We made breakfast and dinner there a few times and even did a load of laundry. The balcony is perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day and the bed is incredibly comfortable. We walked everywhere from Sunita's condo (we stayed primarily on the west side of the Willamette River), it is very conveniently located. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Portland!"
