  • Great location

"We stayed in Mary's condo for 2 1/2 months from November 2, 2015 to January 15, 2016. The unit was in excellent condition and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The concierge at the Meriwether building was very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent. It is closer to the city center but yet far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle. The Portland streetcar, Max and bus lines are all very close and easy walking distance. We bought Trimet passes that allowed us to use buses, street cars and the MAX train and use them often. However, I found it easy to walk into downtown Portland in about 30 to 45 minutes depending on where in the city I was going Dan did this when the weather permitted. The north-south street car comes fairly often and you can get to a number of excellent restaurants in both southwest and northwest Portland. By walking a little farther to the Tillicnm Crossing bridge you can get streetcars, buses and MAX train that will take you to the east side of town as well as more locations in Portland's city center. Mary was very responsive and helpful."

  • The property was quaint and cozy. We enjoyed a fabulous LWQ with hot-tubbing and walks to the beach.

"It was a great stay. The house comes with a plethora of tchotchkes for rounds of "I Spy" and Grey Gardens-esque photo shoots. If you like Grandma-chic this is the place for you. Plus, hot tub, hot tub, hot tub!!!!!"

  • Amazing peace

"My husband, son and I had the joy of renting this beautiful home over Christmas. Our four-year-old was delighted to discover the loft which gave him a view of the bay and a window to see what we were doing below. He loved the many children's books in the loft, especially the one on constellations. He also enjoyed the bunk bed; he would go down for naps with no problem because he was so excited to sleep on the top bunk! We loved the amazing view; when I was washing dishes or prepping food I was able to enjoy the bay and ocean beyond. Highlights include: instant access to the beach (important for little ones!), gorgeous view from both living room/kitchen and master bedroom, waking up with a view of the bay from the master bedroom, having a real fireplace at night, being able to step out on the deck to see incredible views of the stars, and being 2 minutes from Roseanna's, our favorite restaurant (they serve delicious clam chowder!). We cooked a lot, and so the fully stocked kitchen came in handy: they even had a coffee grinder which we put to good use! We tried a little fishing from the shore, but next time may try crabbing (we saw one of the neighbors swimming out on a surfboard to set crab traps...he informed us they caught on that morning and were cooking it for lunch!). On top of everything else, peace fills this home. We loved our stay so much it was very hard to leave!"

  • Works well if you plan to spend most of your time out.

"Our stay consisted of 2 couples and 1 single. The cabin was adequate for our group to sleep and eat, but not much more. With only one chair and a sofa there isn't enough room for 6 people to sit and talk, you'll have to pull up a kitchen chair. The kitchen was well stocked with all the items needed to cook. The HVAC, while looking like a new unit could not keep up with the vaulted ceiling in the main area which lead to extremely hot bedrooms, and a chilly living area. We were lucky with very moderate temperatures (high of 75, low of 40), There was plenty of firewood for our stay, but no fire starter or kindling. The beds were firm. TV in the living area was small and quiet. Bedroom TV's were very small old style. I was glad that we didn't plan to spend much time in the cabin, because I think it would have been fairly uncomfortable. If you're going to go out and do things and just sleep and eat here, then this place will work well for you."
