  • Waterfront Vacation Home

"This home was perfect for our family reunion! Living/sleeping areas on two floors meant that we could have privacy but get together when we wanted to. The location on the beach front was wonderful as we had young children and someone was always available to take them to the beach to play. We could watch them from the spacious deck. Everything was available that we needed and more. It was clean with lots of towels and other necessities. We enjoyed the Rockaway commercial area because it was just a few blocks long so it was not crowded with hundreds of people as were some of the beach towns that we observed. We had a bonfire at the fire pit which was fun. There were plenty of places to buy wood at a reasonable price. We enjoyed the free tour at the Tillamook Cheese factory. Very interesting. The shops in the small town were very nice. It was a terrific vacation property, and we hope to stay there again!!"

  • Nice, quiet time on the Oregon Coast in November

"There are already plenty of good reviews of this property, and I agree with all of those. I would just add that it came exactly as advertised. Even though it is pet friendly, we found no excessive pet hair laying around the house, or any signs of previous pets, for that matter. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there are plenty of notes around the house with the do's and don'ts, but nothing passive aggressive; just some reminders of what can damage the place (e.g., don't sit on the hot tub cover, take your shoes off because if you soil the carpet, you'll have to pay for the cleaning.... those kinds of reminders). The rental agreement correctly states you will have to bring your own paper products (toilet paper, paper towels/napkins) and soaps which I find a little odd. I haven't had that experience before renting homes, so that part was a little annoying. Chances are, the previous renters will leave a roll or two of TP and probably some hand and dish soaps behind as they did for us, and in fact, we left ours behind as well. You're welcome, next renters ;) Kitchen is otherwise fully stocked with tons of dishes/utensils/glassware/etc. Plenty of towels to be had, too. What else can I say... the view of the ocean is amazing. I might rearrange the furniture a little to have some extra space by the windows for our tripod and binocs, or somehow bring the focus of the room more towards the view and away from the TV. Although, we had some kids with us from ages 5 through 15, so the TV certainly got its use at times. The hot tub was great. It's right off the drive, but the house is set back into a very private area, so no issues there. Beach access is among the best - just walk right down the steps from the backyard and bam!, you're on the beach. Linda was VERY responsive.... she replied to any inquiries in short order. All-in-all, we had no surprises... the rental was pretty much exactly as advertised. It was a wonderful experience for two families getting together on the Oregon Coast in a private setting. As is always the case, the day we left was a sad one... we wish we could have enjoyed the house longer, but alas, it's back to the grind. Even though there were a few minor things I might change, this is certainly deserving of a 5 star review. If you decide to rent this place for yourselves, you'll get exactly what is advertised. Two thumbs up from us. Thanks Linda!!!"

  • Family Vacation

"First and foremost, we had an awesome stay at Rockaway! When we arrived, the house was ready for us and spotlessly cleaned. The living room opened up to the large deck with an awesome view of the Ocean. The beach was literally only a few feet away from the house. The master bedroom had a huge windows with a spectacular view of the ocean. The bathrooms were well supplied with towels and toiletries. The kitchen had plenty dishes and silverware for us (4 adults). The deck in the morning was awesome. Rockaway was within walking distance and we found many great venues to eat or get supplies for our use at the home. Rockaway was a great base point to see many attractions. We were able to go north one day and south the next. The Oregon Coast is magnificent. We highly recommend to stay at this place!"

  • The Most Beautiful Mountain Top Wedding Location

"For anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding location, to a beautiful relaxing, scenic, retreat for a large group, or small, this home away from home property is absolutely stunning, from every view! My niece found this retreat online and from that moment, was excited to see it in person. After speaking with the owner Jamie, we were given the caretaker Sally's number to set up a time to see it. We arrived and found Sally outside working away on late Fall clean up burning brush and fallen debree it looked like. After seeing this, and more on our next visit, it's understandable why this property looks so beautifully cared for. Sally and her husband do such a wonderful job at keeping this retreat beautiful yet still so natural looking. Our reservations were very easily made thru Jamie, who herself was very pleasant to work with. We reserved the whole facility, both main houses and all cabins. This worked well as for it gave all wedding party , plus family, rooms and beds. It gave us 2 kitchens total, the main house kitchen was used to finish prepping last minute wedding foods, while The Lodge kitchen was used for our meals for rehearsal dinner, to breakfast and lunch before the late afternoon wedding on Saturday. Both kitchens had all we needed for any prep left to do. We also enjoyed gathering everyone in The Lodge in the evening before calling it a night. Having a family full of hunters, including myself, we all admired the Bull Elk mounted on the Lodge wall. Meaning to ask Sally or Jamie if they knew what the Bull scored, we have all guessed it to be around a 357? Haha! We used the field up top with the Gazebo for the wedding, decorating with spool tables, Hay bale seating and a homemade Alder altar, it was simple yet beautiful, with the panaramic views from every direction, you needed very few decorations in this natural environment. Our older generation retired much earlier than the younger generation, leaving me slightly worried the music would disturb Sally and her husband. Sally was very very gracious and insisting they were not bothered by the music. I cannot say enough, how much I have truly enjoyed speaking to and working with Sally. She and her husband are much more than caretakers, they are two of the nicest, accommodating gentle souls you will ever meet. They truly made our stay perfect! I cannot recommend this property enough, Thank you Jamie and Sally, we met as strangers, and left feeling like we had a new friend😊"
