  • My Eugene Home

"I just wrapped up another stay at the artful cottage while in Eugene for a sporting event. I love being able to get away from the crowds and find serenity at the cottage/the yard surrounding the cottage. The accommodations are fantastic and the food provided is always on point. The best way to describe my experiences staying at the artful cottage would be "wholistic" in that not only does my body get to rest and relax, but also my mind and spirit. Megas and Tom are wonderful! About the accommodations: Upstairs there are two beds, a full and a queen with a futon type couch that is about the size of a full bed when converted. In addition, there is a small television with a good selection of DVDs, some tv channels, and a bookshelf loaded with great reads. Downstairs is the kitchen with a shelf loaded with good organic eats which include: veggies, fruit, and whatever dietary needs requested. Additionally, there is a small two burner cooktop, a mini fridge (loaded with food!), a dishwasher, tea pot, coffee pot, and so forth. a standard bathroom is off of the kitchen. This would be a great place for almost anyone to stay unless there is difficulty with stairs as the beds are upstairs."

  • Nicely located short walk from beach. Great for dogs

"Stayed here three nights with wife and a grade schooler and preschooler. Also had two large dogs. The house seems dated and there has been some settling. We noticed that a square door on one of the bedrooms has a significant gap overhead. Really, though, the house seems to have been kept in relatively good repair. Appliances are dated too. The furnace fan in the garage is noisy and competes with the TV volume. The refrigerator is also older and runs all the time, sounds like a microwave running continuously. The shower head should be replaced with a water saving one. Hot water ran out quickly. But again, everything seems to work fine. There is no handle or hose for the faucet out front to wash off sand prior to entering the house. That would be nice to have especially with kids and dogs. The floor was sandy from previous guests when we arrived, too. Despite smoking being prohibited on the property, someone left several butts right outside the back door. At least the place had no hint of smoke smell. The back yard has a good strong fence. There was no fear of their escape letting our dogs out there. I didn't appreciate having to pick up dog droppings from previous visitors. The WiFi kept kicking our devices off. We reset it multiple times. It was still useful, but frequent maintenance was annoying. The beach is a quick walk. It is a steep staircase but the vehicle access is not far south and maybe you can use the Nordic Inn stairs that aren't as steep and also right there. It is a great large part of the beach that goes for miles. The cleaning fee was $105 but then we were threatened with additional fees if it was too messy when we left. We were also asked to start the dishwasher and a load of laundry prior to departure which is fairly common with house rentals. It would be nice to know what specifically is considered too messy as $105 should cover cleaning a house and I don't appreciate doing someone else's job on top of paying due to threats. I'd rather clean the house myself and keep the $105 if I'm doing any of it. I don't remember any hotels threatening additional cleaning fees."

  • Perfect getaway

"We stayed in Oceanfront Vista last weekend and had an absolutely wonderful time! The condo was immaculate, stocked with everything we needed to feel at home, and was in a great location. The hot tub on the deck was the icing on the cake. Relaxing in the jacuzzi while watching the sunset: Perfection. During our stay, my boyfriend proposed by writing "Marry Me?" in giant letters in the sand. I loved that when we came back from our walk on the beach, I could see his proposal from our balcony. 5 stars for this property! We'll definitely be back."

  • Awesome Family Vacation Destination

"We spent four short days enjoying all this home has to offer! The grandchildren swam, swam and swam some more. Hiking, biking and family games. We had many meals together and a great BBQ. The kitchen is easy to work in and well appointed. Cooking with gas is a little different but easily mastered. Plenty of room for many cooks and many meals - two dishwashers! What a treat when there are 15 people to feed. The bedrooms are plenty as are the bathrooms. No one felt like we were crowded. I really don't think we had a down side because there were so many positives! We really loved being off the grid. Sweet, sweet family time. We will definitely return. Many, many thanks!!"
