  • Perfect condo for a small group stay in the woods of Bend

"We loved our stay in this 2 bedroom (one bedroom with loft) 1 1/2 bath condo in Mt. Bachelor Village Resort in Bend. We wanted to stay centrally located in/near Bend but in a quiet forested area near the Deschutes River, and this was it! We had a group of 4 1/2 (actually myself, husband, daughter, son-in-law, and 3 mo old grandson :) ) and the condo was enough room for us all. The kitchen was well equipped and even came with a few condiments in the refrigerator and cupboard. Everything nicely updated and very clean. Nice selection on the TV. Good Wifi connection. Nice back porch/balcony with a table and 4 chairs, allowing us to eat dinners outside in the nice weather with a view of trees. Even a gas grill. Beds were comfy and there are portable a/c units near each bed. Also ceiling fan in living room. So indoor temps were comfortable even in August. Resort property had a nice pool area, small store in the main building, easy access to the River Trail along the Deschutes, lots of parking, lots of shade. Quiet resort complex. Owner provided lots of maps in the info binder inside the unit. Would stay here again."

  • Great fit for one family, but tight fit for two.

"It's always a toss up when you rent a house without seeing it first. We had two families so four adults and seven kids ranging in ages from 5-17. Our first impression was good. Cute and quaint. Kitchen and dining area with long table were great. Living areas and main bedroom and two of the bathrooms were nice. However, the upstairs space is tight. My husband and I along with our three older kids (11, 14, 17) stayed in the upstairs room. Very tight squeeze and plan on bonking your head a few times. Two outer beds were comfy but the middle bed was rough. It was convenient to have a bathroom upstairs (no shower just tub) but the toilet is in the middle of the room. Your knees hit the wall when you use it. Bottom line is we wouldn't stay again with two families but it would work well for one with a lot of smaller kids. Location was nice and beach was great. I'm a clean freak and in my opinion it was pretty clean other than dusty shelves. Kitchen and house (blankets etc) had good supplies. Property management was helpful and attentive."

  • Blue "Heaven" Indeed

"We stayed at Blue Heaven for 5 nights during an extended vacation through out Oregon. I have no doubt that this experience will live in our families memories . From the brand new deck you have a stunning view of the ocean. My boys spent hours and hours playing baseball, looking for sand dollars, digging holes, and just being boys on the vast sand beach just below. The steps to the beach were right out the back yard. New landscape enhanced the area greatly and was appreciated. This house really is all about location to the beach. Being an older home it was well maintained. The door knob kept falling off in the upstairs bathroom, but nothing that can't be fixed and it did not hinder our stay. Lots of room for everyone to crash after a day of exploring. The beds were comfy but could benefit from new pillows! The kitchen was fairly well stocked for a rental. We were missing garbage can liners, but called the number and some were sent straight away. There always seemed to be a shortage of bowls...maybe we ate too much ice cream :) There was wifi which saved me and a nice TV with cable (although we didn't use that too much). Towels were plush and plentiful. The garage could use a good wipe down. Normally you wouldn't mind but since the front door is through the garage you seem to spend alot of time going in and out of the garage. All in all we loved this quirky little cottage. Everything was provided, from sand buckets and chairs, to campfire sticks for that bonfire.....there was even a kite. So don't go buy them like we did only to find it all in the garage! My main criteria is always cleanliness and this is clean! I wouldn't hesitate to spend another vacation here or recommend it to friends and family for their stay. Yachats was a cute little community and the area was G O R G E O U S."

  • Just excellent

"Our three dogs and we escaped sizzling Arizona weather to cool, pleasant Oregon. We loved Ken and Jean's hospitality and the area and have already booked for the next two summers. Contrary to the Kentucky woman's review, we found the cottage clean and neat. (It's a beach cottage, not a penthouse suite). Except for food, all paper products, soaps, pans, dishes, etc. were furnished. Actually, there were quite a few condiments, spices and cooking oil on hand. Having the washing machine and dryer available was a definite plus, especially with three dogs. We enjoyed the beach, hot tub, t.v.,and numerous dvds. The dog park just down the road was great, as was the harbor where we could get fresh produce and seafood. The weather was PERFECT and it was hard to return to over 110 degree Arizona weather."
