  • Great weekend getaway with the family!

"Just returned from a weekend stay at Drooly Bear with the family. We couldn't have been happier with our stay! We were extremely pleased with the cabin, as it was very spacious, cozy, and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. In addition, the location of the cabin is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities. Even though we did not get an opportunity to take advantage of the lake or hiking trails (due to the extremely cold temperatures), we found plenty of things with which to entertain ourselves in the cabin including games, movies, and books. The owner Matt was very friendly and accommodating, and really went out of his way to make sure that we were satisfied. In addition he was very easy to communicate with, and quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay. We would highly recommend this property and will be looking forward to a return visit!"

  • Best. Stay. EVER!!!

"This was our second trip to Green Valley and our second stay in Excelsior....it is absolutely wonderful. Everything is clean and neat and ready for you to relax and unwind! We take our two dogs there and they can romp and play endless games of fetch in the front meadow. It is private and quiet. The lake isn't far, and the fishing is fine!! Hiking trails abound and there is wildlife like you would not believe. We started cataloguing the wildlife we saw...over 30 DIFFERENT types of birds, fish, turtles, frogs, fish, etc. So far we have been in spring and fall and each season carries it's own charms. We have never been any place like Green Valley - and now that we have been - we are having trouble going any where else! We thought about renting a house on the Outer Banks as an example - but we are so attached to this hide away in the woods, that we dismissed the thought almost immediately. Huge thank you to the owners of this property for sharing their piece of paradise!"

  • Great getaway

"My family had an amazing experience. There were great accommodations and outdoor activities. Both the lodge and homestead have a nice rustic feel which help you relax easily. I would suggust this for anyone who wants a mountain getaway and wants to spend quality time with friends and family!"

  • Juniata College Mom from New Jersey

"We have stayed at hotels, motels, cabins, and trailers while visiting my son at Juniata college but none of our stays compared to our stay at the farmhouse. I wish we knew about this gem of a rental before. The farm was clean, spacious, warm and had everything and more in household needs that you could think of. The sunroom/observation room was a treat. Our first night we saw a black bear in the back woods. We also saw porcupines, deer, racoons, and bunnies in the back woods on the following nights. Our dog was in Springer Spaniel heaven jumping in and out of the babbling fresh water Creek next to the property. I would like to come back for a full week to get more hiking in at the state land that border the property."
