  • Juniata College Mom from New Jersey

"We have stayed at hotels, motels, cabins, and trailers while visiting my son at Juniata college but none of our stays compared to our stay at the farmhouse. I wish we knew about this gem of a rental before. The farm was clean, spacious, warm and had everything and more in household needs that you could think of. The sunroom/observation room was a treat. Our first night we saw a black bear in the back woods. We also saw porcupines, deer, racoons, and bunnies in the back woods on the following nights. Our dog was in Springer Spaniel heaven jumping in and out of the babbling fresh water Creek next to the property. I would like to come back for a full week to get more hiking in at the state land that border the property."

  • A great Place to stay

"We had never been to Raystown Lake before and didn't really know what to expect. First of all the ride was beautiful and if you don't want to sit in traffic, this is the place to go! When we arrived, we loved Drooly Bear Cabin immediately. As soon as we entranced Drooly Bear Cabin we noticed a cat treat sitting on the counter, what a nice touch. Thanks for providing such a great house with everything you need right there! A peaceful, quiet and relaxing vacation. Just the way it's supposed to be. And, thanks Matt for being so helpful and thoughtful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

  • 3rd time here and we are coming again

"The peace of the outdoors and the true comfort of the cabin made for a great and memorable weekend. 6 of my family members stayed, each sleeping in 5 different beds. I can only comment on the master bedroom, it is wonderful. The room is big and the comfort of the mattress made for 2 wonderful nights sleep. The grill on the deck and large picnic table allowed all of us to eat comfortably. I will miss staying here after my son graduates from Juniata College!"

  • Excellent!

"Great property, excellent house, and overall nice experience. We stayed here in July 2016 for a wedding in Huntingdon and made a week of it on Raystown Lake. The location was great as it is only 10 minutes from all the retail needs in Huntingdon, about 25 minutes from Seven Points Marina, and yet very isolated at the top of the mountain. The community road and driveway to the house are unpaved and parts are fairly steep as the description notes, but it isn't too bad of a drive and can be done in most any vehicle (my sister-in-law did it in a fully loaded minivan with no issues). The house is well laid out with two bedrooms on the main (entry) floor and two on the second floor (each floor has one bedroom with a queen bed and one with two twins). The master bedroom is on the main floor and has its own master bath. Each floor also has a large shared bathroom. There's also a really nice loft on the second floor directly above the kitchen that is a great area for the kids to sleep. There were already four air mattresses in the loft when we arrived, so our kids and their cousins had a blast sleeping up there. The stacked washer and dryer comes in handy too. Finally, there's a great deck that wraps around two sides of the house with plenty of room for grilling and enjoying the outdoors. Overall excellent stay, great value for the price, and we will definitely be back!"
