  • Clean, well-appointed home in a beautiful, family friendly town

"Our stay at this home was a pleasant one for me and my three teenage children. The home has all that one can ask for; it is of good size, clean, and has all of the essentials. Despite a few missing items and the outside grill being out of service - the home owner had taken great strides to make our stay a comfortable one - even calling and checking in to make sure we had what we needed. The small, family friendly village of Eagles Mere is like stepping back in time. The beach area (which requires an additional, weekly fee) is well worth it and gives kids and parents tons of fun in the summer months. Kayaking, boating, swimming, hiking, etc. are all at arms reach. The mountain air and views are breathtaking. I'd highly recommend this lovely community and beautiful home to anyone looking to get away from it all and experience summers of yesteryear."

  • Perfection!

"The photos do not do this lodge justice--even nicer in person. Immaculate, nicely decorated, quaint & cozy! The owner was very responsive to our emails. Be warned--the gas fireplace is a nap-inducing machine!! You will not be able to keep your eyes open! We had a wonderful time--and if you're a nature & history buff, this is the place! We visited Eckley Miners' Village, the Knox Mining Disaster site & memorial and "Concrete City" (if you're an "abandoned places" enthusiasts--C.C. is for you--it's on Google Maps near Nanticoke). Hiked in Worlds End State Park (having lunch at Forksville General Store & Restaurant is a MUST!) and Ricketts Glen and some times we just hung out at the cabin relaxing and in the evenings, we enjoyed the extensive collection of DVDs. if you want to travel to Scranton there is a Houdini Museum (they keep weird hours, so check their website), the Everhart Museum, Nay Aug Park & the old iron furnaces. Also--I've never rented a house that supplied the toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. So NICE to not have to take up space and lug those items back & forth on vacation. BOOK THIS PLACE NOW!! It's AMAZING!"
