  • Better than described!

"The Treehouse was even better than the pictures showed. Very roomy, and very clean. Mary was an awesome hostess, accommodating and answered questions before, during and after our stay. Lots of little touches that surprised us upon our arrival that made our trip that much more enjoyable. We had a group of 12, and there was plenty of room for all of us! Beds were very comfortable also. And with four bathrooms, no fighting over showers! There is no AC in house, something we were worried about in July heat. Each room has a ceiling fan and extra fans were provided if needed, but we were comfortable, wasn't too hot, so it was not an issue. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. There is an abundance of deer and wild turkey to be seen strolling the yards and roads everyday. We choose to walk to the lake and pool instead of drive, which was about a 15 minute walk. We had an issue with the hot tub and washer during our stay, ad notified Mary right away. Hot tub was not able to be fixed, but the kids were still able to enjoy it because the weather wasn't too bad. Mary did send someone out to have it looked at, just one of those things that does sometimes happen. Washer was replaced very next morning, so nothing but outstanding reviews for customer service. About the only thing I can recommend is listing the times that pool/clubhouse etc open and close daily and stick in sight. Also, there are 8 wristbands provided. They did check for wristbands, even when we were only sitting on the bench at the lake, so we did share the 8 between the 12 of us. Not a huge deal as this was disclosed before we rented, so we knew what to expect. I highly recommend the Treehouse. Beautiful accommodations, extremely clean, and owners are super friendly and communicative and easy to work with!!! A+++"

  • Spacious clean excellent place

"Including i we had a group of 10. The 5 big rooms were excellent. From start to finish we had a great time. The house had everything. The location is right by the lake and very easy to find. Owner was excellent also she responded to any questions very quickly. Everything was explained very clearly on the opening closing procedure email. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Great weekend

"We came up to race cars in the Weatherly Hillclimb... had 4 of us. Very comfortable cozy, clean. Renters were very nice to deal with before, during stay and after. Impressed and appreciate their kindness. We spent a lot of our weekend at the hillclimb but staying at a place like this in a town like Jim Thorpe makes you want to come back and take a vacation there. THANKS! We appreciate VRBO hooking us up with good folks... for third time on weekends up there!"

  • Beautiful, quiet and remote setting - great hosts!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The setting is spectacular with hiking, biking and fishing within a short hop from the front porch. The Brookside Lodges are fantastic places to spend a weekend or a week in the woods. The cottages are on the edge of the owner's estate, which is fully kitted out and you can access the swimming pond, games barn and many other amenities. Each cottage has a great wrap around porch with swings, hammocks, tables and chairs, and a new gas grill. What sets the Brookside lodges apart is the attentiveness and availability of the owners. Upon arrival, we were offered a tour of the property, the use of the swimming and fishing ponds, use of bikes, and an ATV tour. Wood, kindling, and newspaper for the outdoor fire pit appeared from thin air alongside marshmallow spears for making smores. You can't beat attentive service like that! The kitchens are well equipped, but are a practical kitchen. The fireplaces are beautiful and very (very) warm. In the Brookside cabin, the main bathroom has a claw tub with a European shower, which for us was not an issue but some may not prefer. Note that there is no wifi or large screen TV, but given the setting and general perfection any guest more interested in surfing the web or watching tv than being outside and enjoying the quiet needs his or her head examined. We hope our travels bring us back to enjoy this unique setting again in the future. Our kids are already making their pitch to return. Many thanks for a great weekend!"
