  • Great spot

"We had a great time! Lovely house. We thought the deck and hot tub in particular were just a great place to be."

  • Enjoyed our long weekend

"We were looking for a Memorial Day weekend get away with fun nearby. This house totally met our needs. The kitchen is well equipped top to bottom--but if you're going to cook, just make sure to bring your own spices, etc. There is a grocery store nearby if needed. We enjoyed the evenings out on the screened in porch, with the deer eating in the backyard. We enjoyed breakfasts on the front part of deck. FYI--the rental agreement clearly states to bring your own towels--that includes a bath mat. We just didn't even think to bring the bath mat, and used an extra towel instead. I'd also recommend taking wipes or something, we used them wipe off the outdoor furniture because it's covered in pollen this time of year. Nothing can help that, wipe them off unless you want a green butt. One drawback, for us, to this house was the development itself. It's not pedestrian or biking friendly. There are no sidewalks or walking paths. We found one walking path around one of the ponds. It's a beautiful setting to walk around in, but it's not walking friendly as many of the drivers seemed to disregard speed limits, passing slower cars, etc. The pools looked nice but we just chose not to use them. There were several people fishing at the one pond one evening that gets stocked with some fish, according to a local we met. It's very close to Bushkill Falls, which was crowded but a nice hike. We also did a few things in the Delaware Water Gap, which was crazy busy. We tried two times to get in to the one visitor's center, and the road was closed because there was no room to park there. So we explored on our own. One cool place to visit in nice weather is the Marie Zimmerman Farm House, it's back a dirt road. There wasn't anyone there and we explored the property, took lots of pictures. We didn't try any of the local restaurants, except to grab a deli sandwich from The Roost. But there did seem to be quite a few options in the area."

  • Perfect Weekend with Family!

"We arrived here July 2, 2016 to spend the 4th of July weekend with my family and fiance. I have to admit, my parents had many questions before booking and arrival that Harris answered promptly. Upon arrival, he greeted us to give us a tour of the place. The place was BEAUTIFUL! The creek is just a few steps away and we woke up to the sound of the waters each morning. The huge deck on the second floor that wraps around the entire second floor provided all 8 of us plenty of space. My grandma and parents enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the early hours of the morning before heading out to sight seeing to near by Bushkill falls. Harris also provided us with four fishing rods and tubes for the creek. The water seemed shallow to go tubing and we tried fishing but with no luck - but being from NYC we don't have much patience. It's not a 5 star hotel, but it definitely has it's amenities that make it very homey. It was a home away from home. Also, I did not know there was a hammock but we did enjoy an hour or two enjoying the view and relaxing on it. We definitely over packed, so a word of advice, all pots and pans and silverware are provided as well as paper goods; even basic cooking ingredients. You literally have to just bring your food, drinks, clothes, towels and personal hygiene products. My first time on VRBO but I am so happy we chose this place. One of the nights it was very loud with constant fire works nearby but that is understandable since it was a holiday weekend. If situation allows, I would love to visit again, either with family or with friends. He provided us with more than enough paper goods and firewood, as well as live bait for fishing. We had the fire going in the pit most of the time throughout our stay, except when we went to bed. He has a few rules, but nothing too strict, things that make sense and would follow in your own home. I would recommend and stay over and over again! Thank you again Harris for your hospitality."
