  • Perfect vacation home

"My husband and our kids, along with his cousins, have been taking a pocono trip for a few years now and this by far is the best home. It's spacious and clean and plenty of room for kids to explore and play. We loved the fire pit and the hot tub was a nice addition too. It's a quick walk to the lake and park which the kids loved. The owner, Paul, was incredibly kind and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We hope to rent this home again next year and would definitely recommend this place to anyone!"

  • Home Away from Home

"My family, which included my family of 4 and parents, had a wonderful time in the Poconos. And it was made even better because of this charming vacation rental we temporarily called home. The owner is very thoughtful and helpful, which is evident in her timely and informative responses, and the plethora of "amenities" at the cottage. The property was just the right size - plenty of room to give each other space while still being cozy. We took advantage of the kitchen to eat a hardy breakfast before heading out each morning, and Netflix and Wi-Fi at the end of the day when winding down. The location was ideal. It was close to Lake Harmony (swimming and kayaking at Boulder Lake Club, dining at any one of the multiple restaurants), as well as shopping at The Crossing Premium Outlet Mall, gambling at Mount Airy Casino. and enjoying the waterpark at Camelback Waterpark and the amazing view from Big Pocono State Park - to name a few things. Next time we plan to come in the winter and do some skiing, as well as take advantage of the hot tub!"

  • Beautiful, quiet and remote setting - great hosts!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The setting is spectacular with hiking, biking and fishing within a short hop from the front porch. The Brookside Lodges are fantastic places to spend a weekend or a week in the woods. The cottages are on the edge of the owner's estate, which is fully kitted out and you can access the swimming pond, games barn and many other amenities. Each cottage has a great wrap around porch with swings, hammocks, tables and chairs, and a new gas grill. What sets the Brookside lodges apart is the attentiveness and availability of the owners. Upon arrival, we were offered a tour of the property, the use of the swimming and fishing ponds, use of bikes, and an ATV tour. Wood, kindling, and newspaper for the outdoor fire pit appeared from thin air alongside marshmallow spears for making smores. You can't beat attentive service like that! The kitchens are well equipped, but are a practical kitchen. The fireplaces are beautiful and very (very) warm. In the Brookside cabin, the main bathroom has a claw tub with a European shower, which for us was not an issue but some may not prefer. Note that there is no wifi or large screen TV, but given the setting and general perfection any guest more interested in surfing the web or watching tv than being outside and enjoying the quiet needs his or her head examined. We hope our travels bring us back to enjoy this unique setting again in the future. Our kids are already making their pitch to return. Many thanks for a great weekend!"

  • Great vacation home

"Happy New Year. We arrived Friday of New Years weekend with snow on the ground. Your home is beautiful with all the comforts of being in our own homes. Was very warm and cozy. Friday night we enjoyed the game room. Had so much fun with ping pong tournaments. Sat we went tubing at Jack Frost and rang in the New year on the lake with a nice fire while watching neighbors fire works. Sunday the weather was absolutely perfect. Sunny and warm. Spent a lot of time on the lake walking, watching people ice fish and playing football. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your home on the lake. Will definitely be repeat renters next year. Our first experience up the mountains was great."
