  • Very comfortable home in the woods

"This was my first time on VRBO so I didn't really know what to expect. Jim was exceedingly patient with my many questions and the proceedural hiccups that happened during the weekend (getting back to me within a few hours every time). The house is very comfortable. We had 2 kids and 4 adults and not only was there plenty of sleeping space (we didn't use one of the bunk bed rooms) and towels but also hang out spots on multiple levels of the house as well as outdoors. TVs were everywhere and my kids loved the video games and board games. The kitchen was the reason we picked it. I was able to cook breakfast and dinner every day (lunch on the main beach shack) and it was well stocked with pans, dishes, condiments and was easy to use. Six people ate comfortably at the table. Grill and fire pit were great. The pics indicate that the golf course is visible from the house. It isn't. All you really see are trees, through the windows and skylights. The decor is bear and hunting themed. As there are gun safes in the house, so the guns on the walls were merely for ambience. The upstairs "master" bedroom isn't completely walled off from the rest of the house, so you can hear the activities in the main room. While the skylight is wonderful for stargazing at night, the downstairs bedroom is better for sleeping in on bright mornings. There are a lot of stairs, some of which were steep for my 3 yr old city kid, but they have handrails and indoors they are carpeted. The Hideout is a great complex. The main beach has two pools and a lake area. The lunch shack was fine and the Tiki lounge (with alcohol and food) on the weekends was better (but you need a special number to be able to order drinks). The mini golf and ability to use indoor play space is also wonderful. The smaller beach is rockier but significantly less crowded. If you are going to spend time on the beach, bring a tent or umbrella as there is no shade. If you leave the complex there is a great homey restaurant called Big Dog Daddy's. There are farmstands nearby for fresh produce and eggs."

  • Cozy Hide away in the woods

"The home looks completly removated and is very clean. My 2 daughters, wife and puppies just loved this home. The peaceful tranquility you get just sitting on the front deck listening to the birds is just amazing. The house is very clean, ample water pressure in the shower, and plenty of kitchen space. What more can you ask for? Denys the owner is great to deal with too. We will be re-renting this house in the future. Thank you again Denys"
