  • A Cozy Retreat with Amenities & More

"Stayed the past weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday with some close family & friends. The home & setting are absolutely perfect for small groups seeking a nice relaxing getaway. From the moment you walk into this beautiful home, it's strikingly clear that the owner put a great deal of thought into staging and supplying renters with everything needed for an amazing stay. The sprawling upper-deck is well-equipped with an efficient BBQ and comfy patio set. Everyone really enjoyed the kitchen, preparing some delicious meals (particularly, an epic breakfast) and catching up over a few drinks. On Saturday, we braved the chilly Fall night to build a fire down by the water. The fire pit area is atop a small, private beach with plenty of seating & tall bushes planted around the perimeter to give it an intimate feel. We had a blast reminiscing, creating new memories, and making s'mores. The lake is of course, the main attraction - I made a point of not missing each sunrise & sunset throughout our stay. Throw in the breathtaking orange/yellow foliage in the distance and you've got a scene only Bob Ross could paint. We made a quick trip as well for a hike at picturesque Hickory Run State Park - about 20 mins from the home. We did not have a chance utilize the community amenities (Pool, Clubhouse), though there are clearly plenty of activities available, with something for everyone. The fireplaces were also great source of warmth and enjoyment, and the hot tub was soothing after the long hike. It goes without saying, but this home has it all. The owner is extremely easy to work with, and provides step-by-step, detailed documentation in addition to suggested attractions in the local area. I've stayed at a fair share of rental properties, but this one by far was one of the best. Our stay was memorable and perfect. Highly recommend this home for anyone seeking a waterfront retreat with gorgeous details inside & out. Thanks to Luis & family for sharing your amazing home with us!"

  • Great house for a great price

"My friends and I had a great time here Columbus Day weekend 2016. It had been a while since the 8 of us were together, so we were looking forward to a relaxing weekend to hang out. Plenty of space and seating in the house, plenty of beds, and a great deck for sitting outside. And the house is very clean. The only time we really left the house all weekend was to run some errands. But there are things to do nearby if you’re interested in that – indoor waterpark, lake, bars, restaurants. I will be honest though. There is some room for improvement, but very minor things. I wasn’t bothered by them, but other renters might care. Also some helpful notes too. -Upon arriving, we turned onto the street that the house is on, and the GPS said we had arrived at our destination, but it wasn’t there. Just follow the numbers at the end of each driveway. When we made a left onto the street, it was about a mile further (at least from the direction we came). -The appliances are kind of dated, as is the kitchen entire kitchen area itself. This is easily visible from the photos on the listing, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. -The house does have WiFi, but it was pretty slow. We didn't care, but if you’re the type of person who always likes to be connected, keep that in mind. -We had somewhat of an issue with the hot tub when checking in. When we arrived, the hot tub cover was ripped and partially knocked off the hot tub. I immediately sent pictures to the owner, so that we would not be charged for it. He was very understanding – it was clearly the work of some wild animals. -The owner leaves very specific directions for operating things on the property. We were nervous we’d mess something up, since the owner seemed very meticulous, but we followed the directions and got our full deposit back. As long as you’re not stupid and don’t break the rules, you’ll fine. He’s leaving the directions to help you. -There is a game closet on the bottom floor, but one thing that was missing was a deck of cards! I forgot to bring a deck, so when we saw the game closet, we figured there would be some in there, but there wasn’t. Note to owner – buy a couple of decks and throw them in there! Overall, a great house that could definitely use some updating, but you can’t really complain for the price! Beautiful neighborhood, amazing scenery, and a lovely home all made for a relaxing weekend getaway. Great memories and looking forward making it an annual trip hopefully!"
