  • In a word -- perfect!

"This lovely, impeccably maintained home was perfect for my last minute vacation in New Hope. Rich in history, and perfectly located -- I think we took the car out of the provided parkng spot, twice all week -- this house has magic. Beautiful walking/bike paths (smelling of honeysuckle and teeming with wildlife) along the canal are steps away, or you can wak over the bridge to Lambertville and enjoy the State park paths along the canal and railroad. The best restaurants shopping, and everything you need are just steps away -- Perfect. PS Not sure what the reviewer below meant, but their is nothing offensive at all in the interesting period items that appear throughout the the house."

  • Good stuff you might want to know

"With three colleagues (all of us attending a meeting at the Philly Convention Center), I stayed a week. Lovely place - clean and nicely appointed. Each of us had our own bedroom and bath. Two of the rooms (larger) face the street; the other two (smaller) face a back space between buildings that has some ventilation equipment. The street side was generally quiet, with the exception of the one night that the cable TV folks dug a trench in the street. The back side always was quiet, with the equipment making a bit of white noise. None of us (ages 66, 60, 50 and 45) had any trouble with all the stairs in this property. Similarly, we found walking to the Philly CC, to restaurant row, or to historic sites to be easy and enjoyable on well-lit and clean streets. The wifi functioned well, the kitchen was very well equipped, the appliances all worked, and house supplies were abundant (we did not need to run out and purchase more toilet paper or paper towels). Much appreciated! Correspondence with the host was average. She was professional, moderately prompt in replying, and definitely not chatty. She did not meet us when we arrived but really didn't need to. The instructions were clear as to how to enter and leave the property via a combination lock. A few things would have been handy to know, such as a reminder to pull the outside door shut behind you. It did not always click shut on its own. As people who tend to use public transportation, it also would have been handy to know that the nearby SEPTA rail line Jefferson (East Market) Station sends a train to the airport every 30 minutes. The train is convenient, speedy, and cheap ($8 from PHL, $7 return). Finally, it would have been helpful to know that the photos on Google maps, while reasonably accurate, make the neighborhood appear a bit undesirable. Actually, the neighborhood is just fine and there's a terrific upscale grocery/deli on the corner. Also a kosher deli next door. Yum to both. Yes, you guessed it. All of us would stay here again."

  • Lovely New Hope house

"Six of us stayed here for a long wedding weekend (July 2016) and cannot recommend it highly enough. The house is lovely and comfortably appointed - fabulous gourmet kitchen - beautiful, private garden with fountains, very tranquil. Absolutely immaculate. The location is a short drive/walk from New Hope / Lambertville (less than a mile). This was an effortless stay for us, and Diana, our hostess, made us feel very welcome and well cared for. Note that there was a heatwave and the house was completely cool and comfortable. This area is lots of fun for antiquing, dining, exploring history, hiking, biking etc etc., and this house is a welcome place to return to at the end of a full day. Diana left lots of helpful information about the house, local restaurants, grocery stores, and left wine and desserts for us on our arrival. As others have noted, the house is antique and the stairs are steep so small children / those with mobility issues may have difficulties. We did not experience any problems. The kitchen and grille are top of the line and I wish we had more time to use them! Beds and linens are wonderful. We hope to return."

  • A GREAT THREE NIGHTS!

"My wife and I along with our three children stayed for 3 nights during our family vacation to Philadelphia. Our stay was very enjoyable and everything was as described/promised within the listing. Our contact Kate met us on site and provided all of the needed information as well as tips for the area. Nearly every attraction was within walking distance and our kids are VRBO believers vowing to never stay in a hotel again. We have great memories from our trip and the accommodations added to the experience. I would certainly recommend the property and would gladly stay again when in Philadelphia. Our sincere thanks to Anna & Kate!"
