"Our 2nd time staying at a VRBO and like the first, this one was magical. Amazing old stone home, plenty of room, very comfortable and welcoming. Brought our dog with us and she had a great fenced in yard to play. We loved our stay and will certainly return again, wonderful experience, thank you Sandra. Debby, Bill & Molly"

  • In a word -- perfect!

"This lovely, impeccably maintained home was perfect for my last minute vacation in New Hope. Rich in history, and perfectly located -- I think we took the car out of the provided parkng spot, twice all week -- this house has magic. Beautiful walking/bike paths (smelling of honeysuckle and teeming with wildlife) along the canal are steps away, or you can wak over the bridge to Lambertville and enjoy the State park paths along the canal and railroad. The best restaurants shopping, and everything you need are just steps away -- Perfect. PS Not sure what the reviewer below meant, but their is nothing offensive at all in the interesting period items that appear throughout the the house."

  • Lovely New Hope house

"Six of us stayed here for a long wedding weekend (July 2016) and cannot recommend it highly enough. The house is lovely and comfortably appointed - fabulous gourmet kitchen - beautiful, private garden with fountains, very tranquil. Absolutely immaculate. The location is a short drive/walk from New Hope / Lambertville (less than a mile). This was an effortless stay for us, and Diana, our hostess, made us feel very welcome and well cared for. Note that there was a heatwave and the house was completely cool and comfortable. This area is lots of fun for antiquing, dining, exploring history, hiking, biking etc etc., and this house is a welcome place to return to at the end of a full day. Diana left lots of helpful information about the house, local restaurants, grocery stores, and left wine and desserts for us on our arrival. As others have noted, the house is antique and the stairs are steep so small children / those with mobility issues may have difficulties. We did not experience any problems. The kitchen and grille are top of the line and I wish we had more time to use them! Beds and linens are wonderful. We hope to return."

  • Making Memories with 3 Generations

"If you are looking for the perfect getaway with family, this is the home for you! We started our search looking for a cabin on the water that was accessible for my mother-in-law. After many hours searching we came across Joan's larger property in Upper Black Eddy. We contacted Joan and she quickly returned our information request. She was able to offer us this home for the dates we wanted to travel. It was the perfect size for our needs and the location and amenities provided were exactly what we were looking for. The home has an elevator, a handicap accessible bathroom, and is directly on the Delaware River. Once my sons (10 & 16) figured out how to read the provided hand-drawn map, which was in itself quite the adventure for them, they were rewarded with riding the provided bikes on the tow path to Homestead for ice cream and giant chocolate chip cookies. It was great to see them enjoying each other's company without computers and handheld devices connecting them! We also loved having access to two kayaks and a canoe which my husband used to float along the river for hours testing his luck at catching fish. When my in-laws weren't feeling up to joining in on the river fun, they were able to sit inside or on the main deck. If you are traveling with older family members, they can be comfortable and not feel left out. They could still watch us on the river & take in the beautiful water, trees, & birds. For me, the highlight was sitting around the fire pit making s'mores. Everyone got to test out their cooking skills and decide who roasted the most perfect marshmallow. The kitchen was beautiful. I have never stayed in a rental home that was as impeccably equipped. You only need to bring the food you want to cook and everything else is already there for you. Leave the towels, soaps, detergents, spices, etc...all at home and just bring yourselves. We were only able to stay for a short trip, but we would definitely book this home again and recommend it to our family and friends. It is a perfect place to unwind, disconnect, and delight in having everyone under the same roof together. Thank you Joan!"
