  • Wonderful place!

"I’ll start with how wonderful the Smoker family is. Miriam is lovely, friendly, intelligent, giving, simply a human been that is rare to meet these days. She guided us to places where we could buy fresh produce and watched over the kids while they were playing with her daughter. We took her daughter for a bike ride and she turned out to be a very knowledgeable bike tour guide. The house itself is very clean and it has the rustic, typical Amish feel and smell of scented candles that we love. Beds are comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with all you need. My children enjoyed watching and playing with the farm animals. The surroundings are beautiful. In conclusion, highly recommended property!"

  • A Step back in time 100 years

"We had a great time with our five kids. The kids are free to roam at this family farm nested in the heart of a fertile eastern Amish Mennonite valley. Watch the cows be milked and if you are lucky, a calf born. Family is super nice, warm and respectful. Great views and gentle breezes at the apartment overlooking 100 acres of alfalfa, wheat and corn. Shops and tag sales are five miles away. We plan on coming back!"

  • Charming and comfortable country setting

"We loved staying at the cottage. It had everything we needed to live there 3 weeks. From Paper towels to cooking supplies. The grounds were well kept also. It was really nice to be away for such a long time and have our own washer and dryer. the beds were very comfortable. One Queen and in the second Bedroom a bunk Bed with a Queen Bed on the bottom. Great for Kids. We enjoyed watching the wildlife outside our windows especially the two ducks in the small stream on the front lawn. To be honest it's not the 4 seasons but if you want a great place with privacy, comfort and quiet, this is the place!. The cottage is within a short drive to many attractions. 45 minutes to Historic Philadelphia (depending on Traffic.), 1/2 hour to Valley Forge. Many Restaurants and Shopping close by. We received great customer service from Pete, who runs the place and would recommend this cottage to my friends. We would definitely stay here again. Mostly we enjoyed hanging out at the Cottage."

  • Wonderful place to stay. We would do it again!

"We stayed in "The Hideaway", a beautiful, spacious, well appointed basement apartment. This is one of the nicest places in which we have ever had the opportunity to stay for a vacation. The Smuckers have thought of everything to make this a comfortable suite. The property is beautiful, well cared for, relaxing and safe. The location is rural, but close enough to all the attractions of Lancaster County to make them accessable within a few minutes. We want to do it again!"
