  • On Campbell Pond

"Words can’t describe the serenity and beauty of this quiet retreat. The cottage is better than described and the grounds and pond are just beautiful. So much thought has been put into creating a relaxing atmosphere. Bird feeders, hummingbird feeders, bird houses and lots more – there is something to enjoy outside of every window. The “sun room” or the deck is where we spent most of our time, watching the birds, animals and the pond. We saw deer each morning feeding among the grasses along the pond and wandering the walking trails. And there are lots of walking trails mowed short to allow for easy hikes all over the property. There are seating areas all around the grounds. Flowers were everywhere as well as the fields of wildflowers. A vase of wildflowers and a nice “welcome back” note greeted us upon our arrival. (Dan had been here once already in the early Spring.) Everything was clean and fresh. Mona and Bryon are available if you have any questions or need assistance. We were here during a rather hot spell in Pittsburgh. But at the cottage the temperature was comfortable and the air conditioner in the loft kept the entire cottage cool. The deck is a great place to sit and read or talk. Fishing off the dock was a relaxing past time. And the beautiful water lilies on the pond amazed us each day as they opened in the morning and closed in the late afternoon. Thanks for sharing this little gem so close to our home in Pittsburgh. We will definitely return. Kathy and Dan"

  • Great Getaway

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Met with family members from VA & WV to meet new Granddaughter & go to WVU game. Super clean, well maintained and comfy cabin. Only had 2 days but hope to come back & do it again. Owners more than helpful, great place for the kids to "wonder" around and the friendly ducks were a hit with everyone. Definitely would stay again. Thanks for use of your the beautiful Rocking Chair & the sugar cookies!"

  • Lovely home & great location

"My lovely bride and I, another couple, and a friend from Pittsburgh spent two nights at this lovely place in late May. The property is just as described. Working with Kara (the owner) was a great experience: very responsive, quick to answer questions, and quick to give us a heads-up about getting gas before we got to town. The home sits above the Yough River, easy to see and hear from the house, deck or hot tub. Easy parking for two vehicles. Inside, the house is very comfortable, with a big closet to the right of the front door and a bathroom to the left. The living room has good lighting and comfy sofa and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped; all appliances were easy to use. The dining "bar" only has four stools but there are folding chairs in the closet. The master bedroom is quite large with a huge closet, full bath with old-fashioned tub and plastic shower curtains. There is a door that opens onto the deck. The kitchen also has a door that opens onto the deck. We cooked-in both nights and enjoyed our meals on the deck (we had perfect weather!). The other downstairs bedroom has twin beds. The loft is huge, with chairs on one end, and windows galore. There is no bathroom up here. Guests using the loft have to use the bathroom on the first floor. The washer and dryer are in the basement and there was plenty of laundry soap. Easy to use Wi-Fi. Three of us used the hot tub each late afternoon = as my wife said each time she climbed in: "Aaahhhhh!" The road is totally quiet since the only two houses are those owned by Kara and her husband, John. We visited the Flight 93 Memorial up in Stoystown/Shanksville = a powerful and moving experience. We also visited Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic home built for the Kaufman family = awesome. And on the day we departed, we did a short hike in Ohiopyle State Park = beautiful. One evening we walked down the hill and across the bridge to the Outflow Ice Cream shop = yummy! Kara will send you a lot of information about the house and you will find a binder with the same and additional info on the living room table. There also are brochures to area attractions on the shelf in the living room. Overall, we had a wonderful time staying here. Our only regret: we couldn't stay longer!"

  • The property was well kept and all our needs were met.

"Barb couldn't have been more attentive to the details of her condo. She responded promptly to any inquiry I had before or during our visit. Our visit was memorable."
