  • Very peaceful getaway

"Excellent place to stay if you are seeking some peace and quiet in the PA wilderness. There are some really lovely hiking trails and parks nearby, but we also had fun staying at the clean and nicely furnished cabin. It's fun to hang out there and enjoy the firepit while looking at the stars and all the beautiful scenery. It was also nice to be able to get away from the distractions of cell phones and internet (there is a landline phone for emergencies). Our GPS had no problem getting us there offline, but the directions provided were also very accurate. You shouldn't have any trouble finding the place despite the remote location. We did have a minor issue while staying there, which was the result of an honest mistake. I only bring this up to point out that Theresa and Jay went out of their way to compensate us for the inconvenience (above and beyond what we had requested). They also made sure to address our issue to make sure that it would not impact future renters. Everyone makes mistakes, but it meant a lot to me that worked so hard to make sure we were satisfied. They are very nice people, and eager to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a quiet getaway in the woods."

  • Peaceful and Cozy Thanksgiving Retreat

"Staying at The Lucky Duck was a great experience. From the start the owner was informative and helpful in facilitating our stay. The cottage is well equipped and allowed us to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable Thanksgiving break. Having the rail trail so close allowed for a daily walk or bike ride. We enjoyed card and board games and watching TV or DVD's. Making cozy camp fires to roast marsh mallows and hot dogs was easy and fun since the garage is well stocked with dry wood. We enjoyed being able to also bring along our family dog. He also enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The kitchen is well equipped. It was nice to have clean and ready beds upon arrival. You won't be disappointed visiting the Lucky Duck! Enjoyable and relaxing even in November :)"

  • Very comfortable cabin, just far enough away, just close enough if in need

"We rented the cabin for a few days during hunting season. The property was right against the state forest which was nice just walking out the back door into the woods. Lots of atv and snowmobile trails around. Beautiful setting in the mountains. There is a small country store a half mile down the drive which also serves food, tho we did not eat there. The property itself is very comfortable and clean, with a well equiped kitchen and adequate seating. There is a very large deck which would be nice in the summer. The owner was very nice and accommodating as well as responsive if I had questions. The owner contacted me prior to the trip out of kindness to ensure I had no questions. Definitely a place I would be happy to return to."
