  • What a great girls weekend!

"My friends and I stayed here for our annual girls weekend in the Poconos and couldn't have been happier! The home is wonderful, well-kept, with everything you need as far as space and with great kitchen full of utensils for cooking. We would stay at this again in a minute! Located in lovely quiet neighborhood - good for relaxing outside (we loved the hammock) and enjoying the nature. Our highest recommendation!"

  • Great for a Getaway

"A group of 12 adults stayed at the Mountain Mansion the first weekend of October. It was great! The house is remarkably spacious, lots of light - sunlight and electric light, and very well equipped. Our group has been going for a Fall weekend at Hidden Valley for over twenty years. The Mountain Mansion is by far the largest, most well-situated, stunning rental we've had. Friday and Saturday of the weekend were rainy. In the past that might have ruined the weekend, but not at the Mountain Mansion. On Friday evening we sat around on the very large and well-furnished front porch partying to the sound of rain on the roof. On Saturday during the rain we had a couple of football games going on the multiple TV's, the dining table was busy with a jigsaw puzzle being assembled, and the downstairs pool table was busy. Members of the group are continuing to talk about the Mountain Mansion ... always saying complimentary things and citing happy memories."

  • Probably the best designed vacation home I've ever seen.

"It's hard for me to add meaningfully to the years of overwhelmingly positive reviews you can read here -- honestly, they're pretty much right about all of it. This property is a gem. What I'll say is that unlike a lot of vacation homes I've stayed in, everything about the lodge really *worked*. All of the bathrooms and the kitchen actually vented outside (so, taking showers or cooking a stew didn't steam everyone). The central air actually propagated very well throughout the property -- not the usual "2nd floor is an oven while the first feels like the north pole". Thoughtful chandelier-style lighting and ceiling fans were absolutely everywhere (including the centerpiece deck / porch); and, I never had to hunt for a power outlet when I needed one. The "summer camp" theme is strong throughout the property, and made the place feel so much more like I'd gotten away from my city home -- the pictures simply don't do the place justice. Windows are placed strategically throughout so that you're never spiritually far from the pleasantly woodsy setting, and the tall vaulted ceiling was both visually handsome, and a treat for the ears in the rain. The layout of the property was very conducive to making spaces for people to get together and talk or play, while leaving plenty of room for some quiet reading when a bit more solitude was wanted. We honestly never missed the lack of Cable TV -- which is an endorsement all by itself. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked and had room for two to comfortably work, and the dishwasher was a life-saver that did a better job than mine at home. About the only thing I really missed during our stay was a tub for soaking after a long day's hike, but it's hard to complain when there were 3 very nice showers and plentiful hot water. We're all very much looking forward to coming back next year!"

  • Exactly as described and even better than pictures!

"What everyone says is true, the pictures don't do the house justice. The bathrooms are beautiful, BEYOND spacious and plentiful. The bedrooms are perfectly appointed, incredibly comfortable beds, and wonderful sheets. The decor of the house is amazing. The kitchen is WOW. It is stocked and incredible. I hate to cook and even I enjoyed this kitchen. There is a huge amount of backyard area that is lovely for those looking to escape the city. My only complaint (and it's really not even a complaint) is that I was looking for something more removed from other houses. This house is right on the street and you can see other houses in the area. Once you are in the backyard however you forget about it all. Wonderful stay. Highly recommended and perfect for big groups."
