  • Great house, owner excellent to deal with, beautiful sunsets, off beaten track

"We just returned from a week in Block Island. We LOVED this house. First the owner was EXCELLENT to deal with. Crystal responded quickly to all my email questions and went above and beyond in making some adjustments to make my 83 year old mother's stay more comfortable. We had vacationed in Block Island years ago and were so happy to return after a 30 year hiatus. Block Island is still as lovely as I remember. The house is located on the West Side of the Island. A good ways from town - so a car would be useful. It is walking distance to Dorie's Cove which we did almost every evening to see the spectacular sunsets. We did lots of great bike rides and walking right from the house. I liked that we were not in "town"; it was so quiet in the evenings and the night sky was beautiful. It was a nice 25 minute bike ride to Mohegan Bluffs as well as Fred Benson beach or town. The house is EXTREMELY clean. I have rented several VRBO's and have not found a house more clean than this one. The house was also well stocked with teas, coffee, paper products, laundry and dish detergent, garbage bags, etc. One downside to house is you have to clean and bring your garbage to the transfer station. It wasn't a big deal for us - but could be for someone who is just looking to stay and leave without removing garbage and cleaning. The house was very well decorated and we felt quite at home. We also were grateful to be able to bring our dog with us. He loved sitting on the deck watching runners and cyclists go by. The house was great for my husband, me and my mom. (and dog loved it too! - if he wasn't looking out over deck he was looking out the lower level window in the bedroom) Over the weekend, my 20 something kids joined us and they had the whole downstairs which has twin beds and sleep sofa as well as sitting area with TV and full bath. We had a nice gas grill outside and picnic table. The house would be great for couples vacationing together as well as families/extended family. Three full baths - with the bath on the main level having walk in shower which was helpful for my mother who has trouble getting in and out of bathtub shower. Would highly recommend this house - just don't pick the same week I want to rent!"

  • Everything you could want.

"This property is a perfect home to host a family gathering. The kitchen is well stocked, with the chefs in the family cooking most meals We did not lack for any equipment that we needed. Grilling at the outdoor BBQ was especial fun with the sitting areas around it and the refrigeration to keep the beverages cold. The seating for dinners could be inside or out with seating for all eight of us at nice big tables (no crowding in to fit). With the layout there is plenty of places for the two year old to play and quiet areas for two month old to relax. The family room is situated away from the main sleeping area so that the evening billiard competition didn't disturb anyone's beauty sleep. The outside area is a dream. The pool with all the towel and pool toys is perfect. The umbrellas make it convenient to read or nap in the shade, not missing any pool fun. The lawn is perfect for Bocce competition, playing catch with your dad or sitting on the patio watching the fun unfold. Outdoors ping pong and foosball competitions entertain the adults for hours. The fireplace area is a great place to relax and share the day. The master bedroom is just that, a hugh bedroom with a great bath and walk-in closet. The other upstairs bedroom have great dressers and big closets so you are not tripping over all the stuff you brought. The bathrooms are well stocked with towels, soaps and shampoos. Working with Robin was a dream, I had a thousand and one questions and she was always quick and thorough with her responses, maps included. The home is close to The Roch for groceries and fresh fruit and vegetables, pharmacies for those things you forgot to pack, and Brickley's Ice Cream for an afternoon treat. This was a perfect home to celebrate retiring from a career after 38 years and new additions for the family."

  • Quiet paradise.

"Another truly enjoyable, satisfying long weekend here on this so beautiful a country lane. The house fits the area perfectly - comfortable elegance, enough room for 4+ easily. Kitchen and outside patio area are designed well and make enjoyment come naturally and relaxing is a breeze. Little Compton - always a treasure. Great location in the center of things, so close to all. We felt very comfortable and appreciated with our warm, friendly hostess, who knows all there is to know in area. Highly recommend."

  • My review of Point Judith property

"I liked the location - close to the beach. I liked the yard where the children could play. The property was very clean. I liked the outdoor shower and the washer and dryer. I was disappointed that we couldn't use the grill but we worked around that."
