  • Amazing place! A hidden gem close to everything

"I love this place. My family and I had a wonderful weekend. The cottage is beautiful, and the pictures do not do the view from the back deck justice. The cottage is very cozy and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but it is very close to both casinos and Mystic. Stonington Vineyard is also just a short drive away. Overall, I have no complaints and there were no issues with anything. The owner is very friendly and communicates well, and we received two text messages asking if there was anything we needed. The place is easy to find even though we arrived late at night. I highly recommend this place, and we are already talking about coming back sometime next year."

  • Great house! Great location!

"The place is great. The house is comfortable, spacious, relaxing, and on a great property. The location is perfect for Mystic and Stonington, and Paul provided a ton of great recommendations for restaurants and local activities. Four of us stayed here, but it could easily accommodate more. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend!"

  • Quiet lake house with pretty view and private sand beach

"This summer we decided to change it up and rent this "lake" house instead of a beach house. It has it's own sand beach with a fire pit, dock and water toys (kayaks, canoe, etc.). The water is clean and, unlike most beach houses, it is quiet and the pond is not overly crowded nor are there motor boats. We used the fire pit once with the kids to make s'mores and that was a big hit. The house is situated on a rise with large windows overlooking the pond making for a pretty, relaxing view. Perfect for that morning cup o' joe or evening sunset with a glass of wine. The downstairs has a kitchen that opens into a dining area adjacent to the windows overlooking the pond and a sitting area. There is an AC unit that cools the downstairs with ease and it was always comfortable regardless of how hot it was outside. There is also a washer/dryer in the kitchen which makes for convenient washes without trekking up/downstairs. The outside shower is comfy and helps keep the inside from getting too sandy/dirty. They just need a teapot to boil water. The upstairs/2nd floor is spartan with three bedrooms and one full bath. The full bath has low water pressure, but is still functional. Each room has it's own window or portable AC unit that seemed to work fine. Our one criticism was the mattress in the master bedroom. It is a bit smaller than a true queen size as evidenced by our home sheets having a few inches to spare and the mattress itself was unusually soft and lumpy making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. This was one of the only reasons we would hesitate returning. Getting a decent night's sleep is not too much to ask for while on vacation. The rooms themselves are utilitarian, but that did not bother me. My wife was a little disappointed when she compared it to some more comfortable rooms we have stayed in on previous vacations with more amenities. The somewhat isolated location was a plus for me, but my wife was not thrilled to have to drive 15-20 minutes to go grocery shopping, find a decent meal, etc. Again, all depends on what you want. There is a note about the fence on the beach and the geese. At first we saw none. Then after a day trip we came back to find goose droppings all over the property and about 7 of them on the property, even though we had blocked the beach. We spent 30 minutes cleaning up so beware. Bill was responsive to all our inquiries and was refreshingly more laid back compared to other property owners we have dealt with."

  • Perfect place

"Our family had a wonderful time during our week vacation. The house is clean, well equipped with everything you might need. (Beach towels, bath towels, beach cart, umbrella, chairs, toys). The AC was nice to have during the humid days but turned it off and enjoyed the breeze too. We cooked in most nights and found the kitchen to be easy to cook in and again well equipped. The outdoor space was complete with a new deck and outdoor shower and a nice yard to play games. the walk to the beach was very enjoyable through the neighborhood. There's a cute playground right around the corner, too!"
