  • Close to the beach, exactly how pictured

"This house was exactly as advertised. Lots of room, spacious backyard and wonderful porch with grill. Its a nice 15 minute walk to the beach (or an even shorter drive). The town itself is very small and there aren't a lot of restaurants, but this house had everything to cook and grill at home."

  • We stayed from Aug1-15 . The house was clean and comfortable

"We were a party of 9,mix adults and children. The very first thing you notice is the breath taking views of the cove and ocean beyond from every window. We all enjoyed walking down to the cove ,the kids loved looking for sea glass , small smooth stones and driftwood. The house's yard faced the cove, was great for relaxing in the late afternoon or early evening after a day at the town beach. The kids enjoyed the beach and yard as well . They liked kite flying and games of tag in the constant breeze we all enjoyed in the yard. The location was perfect too. Some of us went to Newport and others took the children to Battle Ship Cove on our rainy day. A trip later in the week to the Whaling Museum and lunch at the Sakonet Winery al fresco rounded out two beautiful weeks. I enjoyed having coffee every morning in the kitchen and watching the sun come up over the Atlantic in utter peace and quiet. The setting of the house is perfect, The Community of Little Compton is charming. If there is a draw back it this, although there is plenty of town beach space during the week if you plan to use the town beach on Saturday or Sunday arrive early."

  • A Wonderful Week in Sakonnet!

"We were so very pleased with our Close Cottage rental! Our group of four adults loved the location on the water, the cleanliness and amenities available and the welcoming feel the minute you walk through the door! We enjoyed early morning coffee in the sunroom, touring the area during the day, and making dinners in the well equipped kitchen in the evening. The beds had lovely linens and we all slept well after being outside for most of the day. The location of the cottage was perfect. If you like beach walks, finding beach glass, eating lobster, visiting Cape Cod, visiting Newport, hiking woodland trails, browsing through antique shops, stopping at roadside stands, visiting wineries and relaxing by the sea then this is the place to be. A big thank you to the owners for their excellent suggestions and sharing their lovely cottage!"

  • Quiet paradise.

"Another truly enjoyable, satisfying long weekend here on this so beautiful a country lane. The house fits the area perfectly - comfortable elegance, enough room for 4+ easily. Kitchen and outside patio area are designed well and make enjoyment come naturally and relaxing is a breeze. Little Compton - always a treasure. Great location in the center of things, so close to all. We felt very comfortable and appreciated with our warm, friendly hostess, who knows all there is to know in area. Highly recommend."
