  • Great house for an extended family vacation

"We had an extended family of 15 and this house served our needs perfectly! It was clean and well kept, spacious and cheerful with many separate areas for everyone to have their own space. We had 4 small children and there was ample room for them to spread out either upstairs on the deck, the two living rooms, or downstairs in the screened in porch. The swing set was also a hit, conveniently located off of the back patio. Everyone had their own bedrooms and there was never a problem with fighting over bathrooms. The front porch was a nice bonus and the house is on a quiet street, nice for walks down to the pond. The linens and towels were clean and of good quality, and made the stay much more homey. The owner, Robin, certainly thought of everything and was super accommodating and easy to communicate with. Any issues we had were minor and were addressed quickly. We had an absolutely wonderful time and enjoyed the proximity to beaches and the convenience of stores and restaurants close by. I would highly recommend this rental to others wishing for a nice house for a big family to stay in."

  • Awesome beach house- Clean, plenty of space, great neighborhood!

"This home at Allagash Trail was everything we needed for our family &friends for our beach vacation. The home is large, airy and very clean. My family was pleasantly surprised with the layout. 3 good sized bedrooms upstairs w/ full bath. The kitchen table was able to seat 6 comfortably (we actually sat 8 sometimes and just borrowed the deck chairs). 2 seats at the kitchen island as well. We had 4 teen boys w/ us and the downstairs was AWESOME for them. It was almost like they weren't even in the same house as us. The adults had the upstairs living area & kids had the downstairs. No fighting over the TV. :) There are 2 bedrooms downstairs w/ separate living room and good sized bathroom w/ a stand up shower & washer/dryer. Lets not forget about the outdoor shower. Very useful for when you come home from the sandy beach. Actually, my 7 year old son used that shower every day-he loved it. The private beach associated with the house is about a 4 min drive or a 15 min walk. This walk is probably fine for adults & older kids, but we had 1, 4 and 7 year olds with us...no problem...we just packed up the car & dropped everyone off at the beach, parked back at the house & 2 adults drove the bikes back to the beach. The private beach is BEAUTIFUL. Very clean and not overcrowded. Great for younger kids as there are not a ton of waves. There are other beaches within a 10-15 min drive from the house that were all great. Things to do while your here: Definitely visit Brickley's Ice cream- we walked there twice during our stay-about a 5 min walk from the house & great ice cream! There are a few restaurants right on the main road near the house-we also tried Rhody Joe's on Kingstown Rd that was great (10 min drive from house). Great family scene w/ games for the kids (pool, basketball, air hockey) & a cool bar area for the adults. Food was good, drinks were good, atmosphere great. It rained one day while we were here, so we tried indoor rock climbing at Rock Spot Climbing. It's about a 15 min drive from house & the kids had a great time- this is something that kids 5 and up can do along with adults. In fact, I think my husband has found a new hobby. :) This place has crazy hours too- they are open till midnight! Keep an eye out on groupon or rush49.com for discounts. It was about $20 each for us, but sometimes there are 1/2 off deals going on. We were very happy at this beach house & we plan to come back next year!"

  • Fabulous Thanksgiving weekend at this beautiful spot!

"This was an ideal home for our family get-together. The house was perfect for our big group, with great gathering spaces, open floor design, deck, and lovely views of the pond with its Trumpeter swans. We even saw a kingfisher! We would have used the fire pit, but the weather was too damp. It was a short walk to the beach which was almost deserted and such fun for the little ones. The house was exceptionally clean and bedrooms were tastefully decorated with great beds and linens. The space was perfect for our family of two grandparents and our three daughters and spouses and their little ones. Rooms were uncluttered with plenty of floor space for one baby who has just learned to walk, and one baby learning to crawl. It was fun to prepare dinner in the big kitchen with space at the counter for people to talk. Dining room table was good size for eating and playing games. Chris was a great communicator before we arrived, and greeted us and showed us around. She provided some extra things that we needed...porta-crib, stroller, and mixer. We would have been very happy just staying at the house, but took excursions to Newport to the Aquarium and the Cliff Walk, and had a great Indian meal at Maharajah in Narragansett. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay here. It is a wonderful place to make memories. We took our family Christmas photo there on the deck with the pond, the grasses, and the setting sun!"

  • Fun in the sun

"My husband and I had a relaxing week. Never used the car. Walked to great restaurants, shops, beach and ice cream; went to BI twice; entertained family for a bday party. Gallilee is a busy fishing village with lots to do, yet quiet at night. Kathy was helpful and responsive. Cottage had everything we needed. Overall great vacation!"
