  • Spacious house for long weekend with friends

"We stayed in this house with friends for a long weekend in January. Between the two couples we have five boys ages 5 and under so we needed plenty of space to spread out and this house worked great for us. The staircase to the downstairs was wide and one side of it is a rock wall so there was no way to secure a baby gate (we didn't bring one anyway because these stairs aren't pictured in the listing). Unfortunately the stairs made it a little difficult to relax with two small toddlers crawling around but we made it work. Next time we will probably look for a house that includes/advertises more childproofing. The bedroom downstairs with the four twin beds was perfect for the 3, 4, and 5 year old boys to "camp out" in and featured fun brightly colored kids' quilts. The carpeted family room downstairs was great for the boys to play in! They had a blast and the grownups enjoyed relaxing in the upstairs living room after the kids went to bed. The beds were all very comfortable and some had Tempur-pedic mattresses which was a nice treat. The blinds on the windows in the bedrooms did keep a good amount of sunlight out but unfortunately our children are used to rooms with blackout curtains so they got up a bit earlier than we would have liked! The kitchen could use some updating as others mentioned - even just the addition of some more dishes and pots and pans but we made out okay. As other reviewers have mentioned there was a smell when we entered the house. I was concerned at first but got used to it quickly and a couple of us didn't even notice it. It did however seem to get worse just before we left and seemed the strongest in the kids room and the laundry room downstairs. The house is on a very quiet street and in a nice neighborhood. Owner was very easy to deal with. It was nice not having to pay a cleaning fee and was easy enough to take out the trash and clean up after ourselves. Overall we really enjoyed our weekend here and the house more than met our needs."

  • This house has WOW factor galore!

"We have been fortunate enough to rent this property twice in the last 2 years. The house has an open, airy feeling with great views of water or landscaping from every window. The cathedral ceiling is a wow! The cozy leather couches in the living room and the new sectional in the recreation area are also wows! We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace since we visited in April. There is a magnificent pool with pool house for the summer season. We like to cook and entertain our friends so we really appreciated the two dining room tables and gracious kitchen facilities. At night the pool table was the center of attention. This house has it all!"

  • Great location, roomy and close to the beach

"Had a wonderful time at Bonnet. This home was perfect. We had room downstairs for the kids, it was like they had their own private suite. All the amenities you could need. We've already booked again for this year. Thank you Nancy!"

  • this is a lovely home away from home

"Our family had a fabulous and comfortable week away in RI. The home was very cozy and well cared for. We were grateful for the window unit AC's and ceiling fans in each bedroom as it was a hot week. The property came well equipped with kitchen utensils, cookware etc. The grill was well cared for with great grilling utensils. The back yard and back deck were lovely, the outdoor shower was a hit with the entire family, and the extra fridge in the laundry area was a game changer. The owner checked in to make sure we were comfortable and happy with the property and he even left us a thoughtful gift upon our arrival. He provided some extra beach equipment as well which was unique compared to other homes we have rented in the past. While this house was very close to Scarborough Beach, we ended up going to Roger Wheeler Beach most days because of the quieter surf. For dining, we enjoyed The Bike Stop, Aunt Carrie's (twice) for take-out, had great dinners out at The Coast Guard House and George's of Galilee (without reservations) and easily cooked at home for other meals. There is a Stop and Shop just a few miles up the road which is handy. Thank you for a great vacation, Chris!!"
