  • Surfer Watching in Spring

"We were searching for a location for Spring vacation that was close to everything and close to the water and some local attractions. We were traveling with 2 adult couples along with my teenage children so the location was perfect for all of us. We met Mike upon arrival and he was extremely friendly and knew the area very well. He even gave us a ride around Matunuck and pointed out some areas of interest to us before we even unloaded our bags. The cottage was clean and cozy, and we enjoyed watching the surfers every morning from the front porch. East Matunuck Beach is walking distance and we enjoyed a nice walk out to the end of the beach with the kids since we had some great weather for April. There are two bars on the same street, one we walked to a few times called Ocean Mist which is right on the water. Live music was playing on a Saturday and is a local favorite. Local destinations such as Narragansett, Pt Judith are a short drive away, as is East Matunuck Oyster House , where we dined and their food is spectacular. The cottage is in a great location, with water views in the rear of the house of the ponds and ocean directly across from the front of the house. Mike has had the same renters here yearly and we can understand why, look forward to returning again soon!"

  • Family Wedding in Matunuck

"My son was married this past weekend at the Bistro by the Sea. Our family stayed at 101 Washington Street. Was a wonderful location. Everyone enjoyed their stay and had a great time. A few are already talking about trying to rent it next summer for a week. Immaculate home with many amenities. Would highly recommend it. Even though we live in Rhode Island, we felt like we were at a destination wedding!"

  • REALLY NICE! close to beach with all the conveniences of home

"Ralph was terrific! He was really good at getting back to me each time I had a question prior to our stay. He even let me drop off our bikes early. The place was clean and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything a cook could need including basic spices and coffee! Having more than enough linens and towels was a huge plus. The washer and dryer came in very handy in such hot humid weather. The yard is beautiful and very private. Mornings on the deck were lovely! The beach is really close but parking was tough all week, however, it was really hot and the beaches were more crowded than usual. Super comfortable beds and furniture. Lots of movies to choose from, surround sound and great music system. We really enjoyed having two living areas where adults could enjoy time away from the kids but still keep a close eye on them. Lots of room for everyone. The pool table was a nice surprise as were the large assortment of games. The only down side was the fact that the air conditioning worked hard to try and keep the back bedrooms on the second floor cool with minimal success even with fans in every room, but I have to admit that it was a really unusually hot week! Extra bonus, close to our favorite ice-cream shop, Holy Cow!! We definitely would return!"

  • Deceptively Charming

"The photos do not do this little home justice. The kitchen, dining, family room, living room is open floor plan. The Accoutrement in the kitchen is better than the average beach home. Plenty of pots and pans, lots of cooking equipment in a workable kitchen. The porch is really where you're going to live. Smith and Hawkins teak table and chairs, lamps, tiny wine fridge overhead ceiling fan. Charming Beach Art everywhere. The grill is not your typical ready for the trash beach grill but a Weber. Very nice indeed. Small touches everywhere, a basket for clothes pins ready for outside, a picnic basket, vases, plenty of lamps, laundry baskets for your use, a sharp knife! The one television is large and from this century. There is also a handicap ramp and the first floor is mostly handicap accessible. There are some cons. The outdoor shower, while quite large with plenty of hooks for towels and clothing, can be seen from two angles of nearby homes. However the hand held shower attachment allows you to scoot into a corner. You will need to go to the basement to turn the water on and off each time you use the shower. Not horrible, just an inconvenience. There should be a cafe curtain or shade in the kitchen so second floor neighbors don't get a view into bedroom. The bedroom door needs to be open as you will see in the next paragraph. The house is a little oven. The two interior ceiling fans and two creaky standing fans will not cool this house down during a hot August day but by most evenings where the temperature dips below 75, it will be cool enough to sleep. If you're here during a heatwave like we just experienced this place may be very uncomfortable. Overall if you choose your time at this home wisely and not during the high heat of summer it's a charmer and quite deceptive from the exterior. A decent value."
