  • Great time; great location

"The property was in very good condition and a true ski in, ski out situation right at the Lion's Head gondola, and a short walk from stores and restaurants. It's a lot more convenient to the mountain and après ski activities than Vail Village. I would stay there again. One caution, make sure the shuttle company has the right address. There is another property called the Lodge at Lion's Head which can be confusing."

  • Truly getting away from it all!

"We are so lucky to have stumbled across this amazing abode on VRBO! We are a family of nine (7 kids ages 1-16), and this was our first ever family vacation that did not involve going to visit extended family. As you can imagine, it is a challenge to find affordable and comfortable accommodations for so many people! The Sternitz Ranch Cabin was everything and more that we could have hoped for. There were plenty of bedrooms with cozy beds (lots of duvets and blankets!) for everyone to spread out and get a good nights sleep. Toys, books and games for everyone. A fully stocked kitchen - so lucky to have a dishwasher! There were even spices and condiments. We stayed at the cabin for a full week and did not eat out once, a huge money savings for us. I brought frozen pre-made dinners for the slow cooker which was provided, and we always packed a lunch before leaving for the day. We had many exciting adventures in beautiful Yellowstone Park - our kids had never seen a mountain before let alone the wonders of geothermal activity. Even so, we were always excited to get back "home" to the Cabin. The winding road up to Cinnebar Basin was breathtaking and perhaps a little intimidating the first time, but traversing that road became a favorite part of the day, really made you feel like you were unwinding and getting away from it all. As soon as we were back in the Cabin the kids would spread out to play or curl up with a book in front of the lovely fireplace. There was an outdoor play area too but our time there was chilly and we usually arrived back at dusk. I really feel that Rob and Stacy have a great gift of helping people unwind, de-stress and connect with each other. (The lack of cell coverage and wifi also helps with that!) They have provided such a well thought out and beautiful environment, right down to cozy blankets and tasteful decorating. This vacation has been such a wonderful time of bonding and connecting with each other. We will always treasure the memories!"
