  • Wonderful Stay

"Marianne and Bill were excellent hosts! The cottage is well maintained and clean. There was plenty of sleeping space for our family of 5. Location could not be beat. Just a short walk to the private beach."

  • Tiverton Four Corners Schoolhouse

"My cousin and I spent a delightful 3 nights in this beautifully converted 1800's schoolhouse, just prior to the special event of her ordination. She wanted me to see Rhode Island in the Fall, so discovered this charming VRBO as one of our bases of operations for the week. It was perfect and the owners were so hospitable! We had fresh, free range eggs, a beautiful kitchen in which to cook as needed, comfortable beds, fireplace as needed, new washer and dryer, lovely grounds. In all, just a lovely setting in an immaculate and wonderfully historic property. The decor was enhanced by all of the research that traced the history and ownership of this beautiful, one-room schoolhouse. Vintage farm implements, toys of the era--made this a fascinating place to stay. I'm hoping to return during summertime, but Fall was gorgeous! We enjoyed a number of restaurants, including The Mooring in Newport, the Barn in Little Compton, the restaurant overlooking the bay in Portsmouth, delightful shops in Bristol and Tiverton Four Corners, etc. Galleries were fun and so were the farms and farm stands. The schoolhouse is perfect for just about anyone wishing to explore this lovely part of New England!"

  • Highly recommend this property

"We recently stayed here for a week in July and highly recommend this property. We were seven adults and two children and there was plenty of room for all of us, with several comfortable living areas. The property was well stocked with paper goods, towels, linens, baby supplies, bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, and just about anything you could think of. East Beach was a short drive away, with no public parking available, which is actually an advantage because not many people go there. Our routine was to drop everyone including chairs, umbrellas, etc. off at the beach, drive back to leave the car at the house, and one of us would take a bike back to the beach. An alternative is Misquamicut Beach, which is nearby and has plenty of public parking. Window fans were provided in all the bedrooms, which were sufficient even though it was a hot week. Only the master bedroom has a window AC unit. The home has been meticulously maintained and cleaned. The large backyard is great for anyone with little kids, and the huge screened in porch was the go-to place for everyone in the evening. The owners are easy to reach, and they responded quickly by email to questions we had during our stay. Overall, a very satisfying vacation, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again."

  • Family of Four - extended stay

"We had the privilege of spending three months in this lovely home and based on our wonderful experience we highly recommend booking this home to anyone looking to stay in Newport. The house is absolutely charming - recently and completely renovated with all modern conveniences but yet maintains its historical roots. The house is fully stocked with linens, all necessary kitchen utensils, small appliances, pots and pans, etc, and the owners even have wooden blocks, markers/paper, and serving ware for children. Beds were all very comfortable, house was spotless upon arrival, yard is large with lots of room to spread out, and the house is in a perfect location…5 minute walk to downtown, less than 5 minute walk to the water, but yet it’s a very quiet location so you don’t feel like you’re located in the hustle and bustle of the city. The owners are absolutely wonderful - quick to respond, very organized, and truly set us up for success during our stay. We have stayed in many VRBO homes over the years in the US and abroad, and our stay in Newport was fantastic thanks to this terrific home and the wonderful owners."
