  • Relaxing week at Sandy Bottoms

"We rented Sandy Bottoms for the last week in April this year. The weather was perfect. When we walked into the house we felt like we were on a cruise ship as the home was soooo close to the water! Sliding doors ran the entire width of the home and you just had to stop every time you came in the house to marvel at Gods beauty!! We as well as our friends had a beautiful oceanfront master with private access to the gorgeous covered porch that ran the length of the house. We each had a small but adequate bathroom, and used the back bedrooms to store our suitcases and clothes! That was a treat. The setup of the bathrooms were a little awkward and a mirror on the inside of the door would have been helpful. One of the rocking chairs was broken when we arrived. They fixed it, but it broke again. It needs to be replaced. Both of the couches really need to be replaced as they are quite soiled and the cushions are worn. The kitchen was really nice and had every appliance, gadget, pot, pan, dish and glass wear you could want!! We trails hated to leave and even with the updating that needs to be done, we are already in the process of renting it again next year!!!!!!!! For the money and location we think Sandy Bottoms is a great value and can't wait for our next visit⛱👣👙🌞🍷🐠🐠🐬🐟🐳🐋🐚🌊"

  • Great stay at Edisto for large group!

"What a lovely place to gather with family and friends to reconnect and enjoy the sun, sand and surf! Our group of three families have been gathering together from the mountains to the sea over the last 19 years. Our "babies" are now married or in college and high school, but we all have not outgrown our friendships. This was the perfect place to gather with a large group! There was ample space around the table and bar to eat, play games or just chat. The porches were ideal for rocking and sipping. The game room upstairs had plenty of room for all the "kids" to crash at night. The house is very well sound proof, for we hardly heard the ice cream churn on the front porch laboring away as our frozen treats were being created, nor did we hear all the raucous laughter of the kids as they played a high-spirited game upstairs. We enjoyed bringing our kayaks and finding porpoises to follow along in the St. Helena Sound. We also put in across at Edisto Island and drifted with the current to the side beach. Helen was great to work with and I recommend this highly. We look forward to renting again!"

  • Beach side

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best part of this property was its close proximity to the beach. The living and dining rooms were comfortable, but the bedrooms were small. The major downside of this property was the age. All of our clothes and linens came home with a musty smell."

  • Amazing house!

"Spent a glorious week at Susie-by-the Sea. Beautifully decorated and comfortable house-- which was bigger than we expected! Open layout makes it easy to entertain larger group. Table seats 6-8 plus 8 counter stools allowing our group to all eat together. Large TV and comfy sectional to nestle in and watch the Olympics. Large outdoor shower, 2 hoses, shaded double hammock, wide porch with rocking chairs & gas grill made the outside just as well-equipped as the inside. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this house Edisto is charming and laid back little town with the beach, state park and the amazing Botany Bay beach so close by. Suggestion: Swing by the State Park and ask when and where the volunteers are doing a "Turtle Inventory"-- we got to see it twice. They dig out the turtle neat to count the hatched/unhatched eggs and release any of the turtles that need help getting to the ocean. We saw dozens released!!! We kayaked in the bay and saw so many dolphin. Incredible!"
