  • Amazing vacation

"First off, Cathy and Larry are amazing hosts. You aren't just renting a home, you are renting their home which they take great pride in. You could not ask for a better location as it is diagonally across from the 8th Ave beach access. We were at the beach in under one minute from our doorstep. This was very important to me as I was traveling with my 70 year old mother and I didn't want her to have to go far. The beautiful home is far enough away from the noise of Center St but close enough to get their in under 10 mins. I do recommend a golf cart as parking in Folly during the high season is at a premium. We had a large vehicle with a substantial trailer hitch so we knew a golf cart was the way to go. There aren't really sidewalks to walk on to get to town so we found this easier. The house is beautifully appointed with all that you could ever want. We traveled with 2 small dogs and they loved the fenced in yard. It's very private and spacious for the lot. It was a 20 min easy drive to beautiful downtown Charleston where top notch shopping and restaurants await. It was such a spectacular vacation for the first time ever, we've already reserved the house for the same week next year! Also, rent chairs from the Folly Beach chair company. They will set up and take down your beach chairs and umbrella daily. Wonderful service and worth every penny in our book. Can't wait for next year, thank you Larry, Cathy and Buster! ❤️"

  • Folly Beach Family House

"We had a great week with my husband's family of 12 ages 54-3 months and more than enough comfortable beds for everyone. We even had beds for the other 3 who cancelled at the last minute. The separate living area with the table and chairs, and toy closet was perfect for the two three year olds wirh us. The neighbors were so kind and welcoming and gave us great recommendations for supper. It is only a few minute walk to the beach and everyday was very pretty. The furniture in the house is not on great shape, but we didnt have to worry about keeping kids off of it. The kitchen is tiny andntwo people fixing breakfast and supper was very tight. The owners were accessible by text message and were very helpful with priblems."

  • The BEST Beach Rental I Have Ever Had

"I have stayed at Folly Beach 6 times, (Hilton Head 3 times, Sullivan's island once), and I must say that this is the best beach rental I have ever had. Folly Beach is by far the most reasonable of the Charleston area beaches. With about a 20 minute drive to Charleston, is is possible to enjoy the beach during the day, and still shop and enjoy Charleston restaurants in the late afternoon and evening. I rented this house for myself and 5 high school friends. As "women of a certain age, " we tend to be very particular about our surroundings. This property did not disappoint!! This house is on the quieter end of the island (at least in Mid may), and about 1.2 miles from the center of town, and about 2/10 mile from the County Park. It is the first time I have stayed at this end, and I have to say it is the prettier end of the Island. This 5 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath house is well appointed. Tree of the bedrooms have a private bath; two share a "Jack and Jill" bathroom (a private entrance from each bedroom). All of the bedrooms are quite large; 3 have queen beds, 1, a king, and 1 has 4 single beds. The laundry is on the second floor (as are 4 of the bedrooms). The large kitchen/dining area has all the necessary appliances and utensils (2 coffee makers, a microwave, oven, and the necessary beach blenders!). The living room is large, overlooks the large back deck and private boardwalk to the ocean. The owners are easy to deal with and communicate well with prospective renters. The only note I have for renters is that you need to bring your own beach towels, and beach chairs (although there were several serviceable beach chairs when we were there that had been left by previous renters). Also, bring some soap. Although each bath had some liquid soap at the sink, there was no soap or gel for the tubs and showers. This may have been a one time oversight, and in NO way detracted from our enjoyment of this beautiful home! I would definitely rent it again. It is an A+ property."

  • So Spacious and Unique

"I so enjoyed my week in this unique home. I wasn't expecting a wagon and beach towels. So much I packed that was not necessary. In house advertisement, I was only expecting one bathroom. There are actually THREE. One indoor shower/bath..one outdoor shower. Treasures everywhere within this house. I left a few of my own inside the jar on kitchen shelf! ;) A unique and enjoyable experience. Including bucket, brush, sponge and rag to wash the car with! Plus laundry detergent!! WOW!!! Thanks for loaning us the crock pot. We enjoyed the whole experience and day walks to and from the beach and restaurants....sometimes several throughout the day!! Thanks Molly!"
