  • Excellent vacation house, great location, very agreeable and helpful owner. Return trip a must.

"We had a delightful stay in this well appointed, excellently located vacation home. The all important beds were quite comfortable, appropriately firm. The kitchen fully functional, baths suitable. We appreciated the linens, towels and beach toys. Distance to beach only a half block away, very easy. We enjoyed the view to the marsh, particularly at sunset from any one of the several decks. The all important AC worked very well, cooling the house quickly when returning from day out. I would give the house, owner and location a 100% rating, except for the missing or damaged screens. These are a must to keep the critters at bay in the late afternoon and evening. The ceiling fans allow open doors to deck at night, better than conditioned air! All in all, we're very satisfied with the experience and look forward to renting again next year."

  • Hated to leave and go back to reality......

"Well I am back at work, it was really tough after spending a week at this beach house...I keep thinking can't wait to go back next August...spent the week with my sister, best friend and her husband...was the best. This house is so nice from the moment you walk in the back door, and look straight at the ocean..oh my, loved every minute of it...this was the second time we had rented this home and will plan on it again next year!!! We actually only left the house one day and that was to go into Charleston for the day, rest of the time was spent enjoying laying on the beach, the deck or just being in the patio listening to the ocean....wonderful!!!!!"

  • Exceeded our expectations. The pictures don't do the property justice. Relaxing vacation house.

"First, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I could complain about little things, but they didn't affect our time there with a couple exceptions. The WiFi never did work for us. I didn't notify anyone, because we used our iDevices to access the Internet. I should have mentioned this before we left in all fairness. My biggest complaint was the lighting. The light switches for lights that did work were in weird places -- often very far from the lights they operate. Some switches seemed to do nothing. The outside lights didn't seem to work at all except for the spotlights. However, the spots must be turned off after 10 PM, at least during part of the year because of turtles on the beach. The living and dining area was somewhat dark. The bulbs are too dim, and there aren't enough lights and lamps. The bedrooms and bathrooms were dim or lacking enough lights I thought. The washer and dryer are outside under the house. While this isn't any real problem by itself, there are no lights -- or at least that could get to light up. This is a security concern; though the area felt very safe in general. Safely navigating the stairs during the day requires care and more so at night; the stairs going up to the deck to the house are rather steep. The location is secluded and quiet. The beach is great; step off the private deck onto the beach itself. The house was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked though the knives are very dull. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of additional pillows blankets and towels. There were enough cleaning supplies and a working vacuum cleaner; this place is literally right on the beach -- there's a lot of sand. The place is decorated in a sort of whimsical 'beachy' way with some clever little touches. This place definitely does not have the sterile condo-like look. The living and dining area is large with plenty of seating. The view from the living room to the ocean was spectacular. The deck was amazing. I loved sitting there on the rocking chairs and getting some sun in the ocean breeze. Sitting out there in the morning before the sun made me want to get up early the next day. Sitting out there at night looking out over the water listening to the waves and looking up at the stars...if that doesn't relax you, I don't know what will. The view and the deck made our vacation. We love the Charleston and the area. There is so much to see and do, and so much history. Dealing with Chris was easy and a friendly experience."

  • Great house!

"The pictures on this page don't do this house justice. The living space in the kitchen/dining room/living room is huge and open, and a really great space. The house has a really long dock out onto the river, where we enjoyed watching dolphins swimming by at sunset. The rooms were all a nice size, and everything else was just as described. A great house for a family or group of friends--easy access to downtown Folly. Highly recommend!"
