  • Pretty beachy decor, prime location

"We loved Folly Beach and staying at this condo. It was a great location, close but not too close to the fishing pier. From the spacious balcony, we saw stunning sunrises that silhouetted the pier. The photographers in our group got some great shots. We were also able to watch surfers and dolphins from here. The condo couldn't be closer to the water and beach access. Easy walk to Folly shops and restaurants too. Kitchen was so fully stocked we prepared Thanksgiving and only needed to bring the groceries and a roasting pan for the turkey. Carts and the elevator made getting possessions to the upper floors easy. Condo parking was gated and right next to the building. The full time residents we met in the elevator were friendly. I would rent this condo again in a heartbeat. My only complaint was that the master bed was very high and there didn't seem to be a step stool---difficult access for older adults. Our guests were disappointed that there was not some kind of fans in their bedrooms, but more for white noise than comfort, and their televisions did not seem to have cable access like the master and living room."

  • What a way to ring in the New Year!

"This was a perfect house for our family gathering of 6 adults. The deck is AWESOME! Cold/rainy weather kept us from enjoying this as much as we would like, but in nicer weather this would be the place to be. The house is exactly as described in the listing. Very clean and well-appointed - we had everything we needed. We also enjoyed exploring Folly in our rented 6 person golf cart and especially liked the "Flip Flop Drop" on New Year's Eve. The owner, Rhonda, was a joy to work with. We hope to be back in warmer weather when we can enjoy that deck!"

  • Amazing vacation

"First off, Cathy and Larry are amazing hosts. You aren't just renting a home, you are renting their home which they take great pride in. You could not ask for a better location as it is diagonally across from the 8th Ave beach access. We were at the beach in under one minute from our doorstep. This was very important to me as I was traveling with my 70 year old mother and I didn't want her to have to go far. The beautiful home is far enough away from the noise of Center St but close enough to get their in under 10 mins. I do recommend a golf cart as parking in Folly during the high season is at a premium. We had a large vehicle with a substantial trailer hitch so we knew a golf cart was the way to go. There aren't really sidewalks to walk on to get to town so we found this easier. The house is beautifully appointed with all that you could ever want. We traveled with 2 small dogs and they loved the fenced in yard. It's very private and spacious for the lot. It was a 20 min easy drive to beautiful downtown Charleston where top notch shopping and restaurants await. It was such a spectacular vacation for the first time ever, we've already reserved the house for the same week next year! Also, rent chairs from the Folly Beach chair company. They will set up and take down your beach chairs and umbrella daily. Wonderful service and worth every penny in our book. Can't wait for next year, thank you Larry, Cathy and Buster! ❤️"

  • Terrific view--great unit!

"We rented this very nice unit in Folly Beach into the first week of November. The weather was warm enough to sit and sun on the beach, and only a few days we needed a light jacket. The unit has a wonderful view of the ocean from the living room, and also from the upstairs master bedroom--very spacious--which has its own private balcony (and a nice walk-in closet). The main balcony is large enough for the whole family to assemble--a plus! The open garage parking under the unit is so convenient. ...go up the steps, and you are right in the kitchen. There is a well stocked 'lock-up' area in the garage, full of beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, a fishing rod, beach buggy, etc. The spigot at the end of the garage so convenient for washing sand off your feet. The beach is only a 1-2 minute walk away---depending on your toddler :-). Speaking of young ones, please note that the unit has a pack and play, high chair, stroller, baby gate, and infant bathing tub. (You may want to bring a sheet for the pack and play.) The baby equipment was a deal maker for us! The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and bathrooms were clean. Everything was so nice! We appreciated the starter supply of hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, and washer machine detergent. The only thing I would suggest, if you are extra sensitive to mosquitoes, is to bring some bug spray. The mosquitoes did not bother any of the adults in our group, but they seemed to like our granddaughter a lot. The AC unit worked great--the weather never got cold enough to use the heat. I must say , too, that the manager, Michael, is very helpful and has quick response time to questions and communications. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone who wants a great view of the beach, a convenient place to park under your unit, a good location for walking to town, and a nice unit to relax in."
