"I have stayed at Folly Beach 6 times, (Hilton Head 3 times, Sullivan's island once), and I must say that this is the best beach rental I have ever had. Folly Beach is by far the most reasonable of the Charleston area beaches. With about a 20 minute drive to Charleston, is is possible to enjoy the beach during the day, and still shop and enjoy Charleston restaurants in the late afternoon and evening. I rented this house for myself and 5 high school friends. As "women of a certain age, " we tend to be very particular about our surroundings. This property did not disappoint!!
This house is on the quieter end of the island (at least in Mid may), and about 1.2 miles from the center of town, and about 2/10 mile from the County Park. It is the first time I have stayed at this end, and I have to say it is the prettier end of the Island.
This 5 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath house is well appointed. Tree of the bedrooms have a private bath; two share a "Jack and Jill" bathroom (a private entrance from each bedroom). All of the bedrooms are quite large; 3 have queen beds, 1, a king, and 1 has 4 single beds. The laundry is on the second floor (as are 4 of the bedrooms). The large kitchen/dining area has all the necessary appliances and utensils (2 coffee makers, a microwave, oven, and the necessary beach blenders!). The living room is large, overlooks the large back deck and private boardwalk to the ocean.
The owners are easy to deal with and communicate well with prospective renters.
The only note I have for renters is that you need to bring your own beach towels, and beach chairs (although there were several serviceable beach chairs when we were there that had been left by previous renters). Also, bring some soap. Although each bath had some liquid soap at the sink, there was no soap or gel for the tubs and showers. This may have been a one time oversight, and in NO way detracted from our enjoyment of this beautiful home!
I would definitely rent it again. It is an A+ property."
