  • Could have been better

    "Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have had 7 previous rentals from Island Realty and 3 at this property. This is the first time we have had issues. The first issue was 2 lights out in the master bedroom; bedside table, floor lamp. These were fixed on Monday after a call on Saturday. Only problem was turning out the overhead light when going to bed after reading but bulbs were replace. Also on Saturday had to call for a tea towel for the kitchen. Housekeeping dropped one off the next day. Other issues in the kitchen were no pepper in the pepper shaker or liquid dish detergent. Both were purchased at Harris Teater. The big issue was the clothes washer not working. Called on Tuesday night and Wednesday someone was to come to inspect it. However no further commmunication was provided to me and the washer never worked before we left on Saturday. We had to go to a local laundromat to wash work-out clothing. We also normally wash swimsuits and beach towel Friday evening before leaving on Saturday. This obviously wasn't accomplished. This was the first time I have had any issues with a rental . The other issue I had was the change in the law regarding parking on the Island. After receiving a $50.00 citation from the city for parking at the 42nd street parking area; an area which we previously parked without peril. I feel Island Realty could have been more pro-active informing their renters of the law change and what the change represented. A sign at the desk on sign-in day would have been helpful and having the staff provide information at that time would have been helpful. The result of this ticket will impact whether or not we vacation next summer on IOP or look for another island location where the local government is not out for additional revenue from tourists."

  • Great place if you have dogs

    "The fenced back yard is great. Easy walk to the beach. Screen porch was enjoyable. House smells clean and was very inviting. Several entrances made moving in and out very convenient. Appliances - specifically the dishwasher and frig need upgrading. If it were my rental I would remove all carpet. Would have given it a five star if the appliances were working better."

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was great. The kitchen was large, well stocked (except for no plastics to store things in, and no kitchen scissors). Loved the porch. Bathrooms a little weird in location. With the ages of our group would have had a hard time time fitting more than 8 in the house."
