"It was a little difficult getting in because I had left the paperwork at home (my fault), but it was difficult to get in touch with anyone once we were there. The house is not right on the road, so make sure you know where you're going and also give your friends directions if they're trying to find the place because Google won't let you know that the house is back behind the others. We didn't use the resort amenities at all, so I cannot speak to that aspect of the home, although when we went to check in it did seem very nice. We did really enjoy having lots of space for family and friends to gather together. We made meals and found the kitchen to be well-equipped with plenty of dining space; the kitchen was probably my favorite part of the house. I believe there are lots of residential homes nearby, so being quiet on the great little back porch is important for the neighbors' sake, as the sound carries. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful.
It was great to be able to walk to the beach in such a short distance with a walkway just outside the side door, and the grocery store was a short drive away. Of course, Charleston is fabulous, full of fantastic food, and is less than 30 minutes away.
I will say that there is not a lot of private bedroom space, so this vacation home is great for families but not so great for lots of single folks staying together; if no one has problems sharing bedrooms/bathrooms, it'll be great! If you do have more than 4 cars (the max allowable in the driveway at one time), you will have to park extras on the resort parking lots, which is a little drive away, so just be prepared to shuttle folks.
We got married on the beach and were grateful to have the house as wedding headquarters where we made bouquets and got ready.
It was a great space to share memories with our family. Everyone enjoyed watching the football games in the spacious living room as well as having drinks on the back porch. The house interior is probably due for some updates in the bedrooms soon (the master bedroom is JUST as bright salmon-pink as the photos suggest), but everything was clean and cozy, thermostats upstairs and down, and extra linens in closets. Our little boy was pretty excited to find fishing poles in the closet downstairs and the resort has a pond with great bass fishing. The little outside shower was a great resource for getting those sandy beach feet clean before going inside (just remember to bring your own beach towels)!"
