"A dear friend and I hadn't seen each other in years and wanted a week to relax and catch up. This Kiawah Island property was perfect! The beach is just yards away. If you open the balcony doors, the sound of the waves will lure you down to the shore. The beach is wide, perfect for sunning, surf play, shell collecting, biking, walking, and jogging. The somewhat rustic exterior of the building blends in nicely with the natural environment but doesn't do justice to the quality, beauty and comfort of the apartment. The online photos reflect the interior decor accurately and it is a clean, light-filled, tastefully decorated two bedroom, two bath apartment. It is quiet at night with great beds and bedding. There are TVs throughout and it has up-to-date entertainment options for DVDs, iPods, and fast dependable WiFi for music, movies, and online life. Shawn and Jeanette of Kiawah Island Getaways were very easy to do business with and they have thought of practically everything. There's a stock of board games if you encounter a rainy day. There are flashlights for nighttime beach walks. The kitchen is spotless and well stocked and the Harris Teeter grocery at Freshfields Village, less than 3 miles away has everything, including a gourmet selection of cheeses, wines, and local produce. There are several local fresh seafood and produce markets or stands within a 10-mile radius. For a lazy morning, there's coffee and great grits, pancakes, waffles right across the parking lot at the Southern Kitchen. The golf courses, restaurants and luxurious Sanctuary (a must for a sunset drink and safe alligator watching!) at Kiawah Island are readily accessible from the apartment. Arrangements can be made through the hosts for bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, even a private chef! It's an easy drive to Charleston and Beaufort for remarkable history tours, architectural delights and great restaurants, such as the elegant Hall's Chophouse in Charleston, Wren in Beaufort, or the casual but delicious fare at Roadside Seafood on Folly Road. And there's the mysterious Angel Oak, which certainly gets added to the list of everyone's most memorable trees of a lifetime. I would definitely recommend this property to others. Everyone was super friendly. I look forward to a future visit. This property was a wonderful backdrop for us friends to reminisce about the past and build new memories of drives down Sea Island roadways shaded by timeless oaks dripping with Spanish moss."
