  • The perfect place to stay with the family

"the fact This house was such a perfect location for us. We were 5 minutes from the beach, the kids loved seeing alligators on the way, and 3 minutes from the Heron park, pool, splash park etc! The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Having the resort access was a must! We could go to all the golf clubs and eat, rent bikes, etc. I would suggest if traveling w little kids to hit the beach at low tide so they play in the tide pools. We hired a sitter nightly through the resort and my husband and I drove into Charleston almost nightly to meet friends and have dinner. Using WAZ this took 38 mins tops (without traffic). I would highly suggest The Ryder's Cup bar at end of Kiawah to have lunch or dinner. The views were amazing. Also brunch at the Sanctuary was really wonderful. We tried as many restaurants for lunch as we could, and they were all very good. Overall a great vacation."

  • Wonderful Kiawah Stay!

"We recently rented this home and had a wonderful time at Kiawah. The property owner was the best I've ever rented from - so responsive and organized - made the whole experience so easy! His home is absolutely beautiful - comfortable and casual, yet elegant at the same time, with that Southern charm and hospitality in a beachy décor. We cannot say enough about our experience and time there - it was very hard to leave! Thank you, Tom!"

  • Wish we could've stayed longer!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage for the Kiawah Marathon. The location was very convenient. My husband and I rode bikes (rented from Seaside Cycles) the 2.5 miles to the start/finish line. Our young teenagers LOVED riding bikes to the shops and restaurants on the island. There are safe bike paths all the way from Sparrow Pond to the Freshfield Market Center. They enjoyed having that Independence. The cottage is well decorated with comfortable bedding and soft towels. We hope to have the opportunity to rent this place again in the future!"

  • Spring Breakers from Kentucky

"The villa lived up to our expectations and them some. It was easy getting onto the island with our printed guest pass, and was a beautiful, scenic drive to the villa. We couldn't believe how quite it was all over the island! The villa was located on the 3rd floor and we never once had to wait for the elevator. As soon as we walked into the villa, we were met with a pleasant fragrance, lights on, peaceful music playing and just a very inviting atmosphere. The size of the villa was perfect for our party of 6, which included 3 children. What was most helpful was that the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials, so you don't have to buy all those extra things that you only need for the stay - salt and pepper, sugar, dish soap, paper towels, etc. Everything was very neat and labeled really well. The decorations were beautiful and felt unique to the space. And the beds...they were so plush and comfortable, from the sheets to the pillows and duvet. There were also toys, games and DVD's supplied, which was nice for the kids. We found the Freshfields village pretty quickly and dined there 2 nights out of the week, as well as picked up groceries. The drive was only about 5-10 mins from the villa. We never used the Night Heron park pool, but it was very close, and we were told that it was heated. We did take the kids to the Night Heron park and nature center, which was only about a 10 min walk from the villa. We drove to Charleston one day, and the only traffic we experienced was on our drive back around 4 pm, but it moved fairly quickly. Overall the villa was immaculate, well maintained and organized and very homey. We were pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was all over the island. One thing to note, bring bikes if you can! It was too hard for us to get the entire family a bike to ride, considering our 4 year old can't ride a bike yet, but we would have loved to take advantage of all the lovely bike paths. So, if you're looking for a peaceful destination with beautiful surroundings, Kiawah Island and the Mariah are perfect for you! We would come back in a heart beat."
